I've had braces and after I had them removed, one of my teeth eventually became really crooked and it's right in the front of my smile too! I really don't want to go through braces again and invisaline isn't an option because I go to college far from my house and know I won't be able to go to all the frequent checkups and get my teeth remolded. Also, my parents want me to go back to my orthodontist because they say my teeth being straight is suppose to be a garuntee, but I know my orthodonist will just get pissy because I didn't wear my retainer for more than a couple months after my braces.
Is there a quick fix for my one crooked teeth?
there is no guarantee from an orthodontist, you were supposed to do your part of the deal and wear your retainer, unfortunately i think your only option know is to get braces again, its the only way to fix that
Reply:Lumineers is a possibility. It is laminated over the teeth. Ask a cosmetic dentist about it.
Reply:If u dont want crooked teeth 4 da rest of ur lyfe u better do something but if I waz u I would get da braces angain and WEAR THE RETAINER!!!!!!!!!!!
(I mean at least u can get braces now i know imma need)
Reply:Sometimes a retainer can correct a minor problem. I am currently wearing a retainer with springs (4 wires that push my teeth closer together). I take it out for work (when on the phone or in front of a class) and wear it all day and night otherwise. I also have a more traditional retainer on the bottom, although it is "active" pushing my teeth back.
The good news is that your teeth are still loose, which means that they are ready to move in positive direction also.
I don't agree with your parents about a "guarantee", but I do think that you should go to your orthodontist because he/she already knows your teeth!
I don't think Invisalign is out of the question. The visits are no more frequent than braces--you get a full course of treatment charted after you first eval, not through a ton of impressions like some people say. I looked into it, but it is very expensive, even for a short course of treatment (6months or less for $3600).
BTW the ortho sees patients who forget to use their retainer all the time. That's what keeps them in business!!! The sooner you get in the more likely it can be fixed without new braces.

This guy I met is nice...but has crooked teeth and teeth are very important to me. What do I do?
I've been talking with a guy for a couple weeks. He's a very nice guy and we have a lot in common. Overall, he's attractive. However, he has crooked teeth. Not just minor, it's pretty major. Teeth are important to me and a major factor when it comes to how attracted I am to someone. Maybe I'm shallow but it's something I don't know if I can get passed. But...I'd hate to not get to know him more just because of something like that. Technically, it could be fixed...if it's something HE wanted to do. But, I don't think it's right to bring up such a subject. Your thoughts?
This guy I met is nice...but has crooked teeth and teeth are very important to me. What do I do?
Leave him alone... he deserves better!
Reply:If it's such a big, deep deal to you, you should already be outta there! Or maybe you're growing up since you're thinking about it...
Reply:leave him alone.... you are a bit superficial. Please leave if you really don't want to hurt him...Just Go!
Reply:offer to help him get them taken care of since they bother you so much then ask him what faults do you have he would like to see corrected since no one in the wo rld was born perfect
Reply:Well think about it this way. What if he had straight teeth in the beginning then ended up in a fatal car accident and some of his teeth got knocked out. Would you think so much of his missing teeth, or his survival?
Reply:Try figuring out why his teeth are so important to you. My guess is that it's not the teeth but suspect that you have a problem being seen with someone who isn't "perfect." Why is that a problem for you? Someone close to me has several problems with their appearance but she's GORGEOUS.

Would you date someone with crooked teeth?
I wouldn't. Just curious 'cause a guy at my school has really crooked teeth and my friend is all over him. It's gross.
Would you date someone with crooked teeth?
When you want to be with someone crooked teeth doesn't really matter. It's what's in a persons heart that makes them a good or bad person. Maybe your friend sees more to him than crooked teeth. They wouldn't matter to me. I'm not perfect either.
Reply:It's a pretty superficial thing to worry about. People far too often stop looking at a person when they reach the first flaw.
All of us have flaws and we're all more than our flaws aren't we?
Reply:God no... Teeth are very important, and they play a huge role in determining whether or not someone has good hygene.
Reply:Grow up
Reply:Crooked teeth? No big deal, as long as they're not rotten and gross looking. Maybe she's all over him because he's nice, looks aren't everything.
Reply:It sounds like you are very immature, shallow, and superficial. Haven't you ever been taught that it's what's on the inside that counts?
How would you like to be judged for your own appearance?
Reply:his personality will have to extremely outweigh his appearance
i would have trouble dating him too; i consider good teeth as good hygiene.
Reply:No. I have someone at work with crooked teeth who swears he's a stud. He has hit on every single woman here. It's funny because then we go behind his back and make fun of his teeth! It also doesn't help that he's no more than 5'6" and 115 lbs!
Reply:let's see a picture of you........i bet we all could find a flaw in you........and break your precious heart on what we find.

Reply:If your body weren't "perfect" would you be a different person inside? If your teeth were dark or crooked, would you be a different person inside? Or ... do you just date the outside of the person?
From my perspective, living part of my life with prosthetics, I can say that my prosthetics are not who I am when I'm using them.
You are seriously not that shallow, are you?

Will using a pacifier cause crooked teeth?
My mom just introduced my 2-year old son to using a pacifier - he has never been interested in itbefore, but we just weaned him off the bottle, and she is looking for a replacement to calm him down. Isn't this going to make his teeth crooked? I had an extreme overbite when I was younger, and although I am not positive why this happened, I did use a pacifier. What do you think? I do not want my son to have to get braces in the future, if this is something I can prevent. Thanks.
Will using a pacifier cause crooked teeth?
Wow 2 and now using a pacifier. I'd say get rid of it quickly before he relys on it or it's gonna be hard to break the habit
Reply:If you can limit his use there should be no problem. The development of his palate depends on the sucking exercise. There are orthodontic pacifiers that are better. I tried them with my girls, but they always used them upside down, so kinda defeated the purpose.
Reply:This is an old wives tale - - pacifiers make teeth crooked.
They do not.
Personally, I do have to admit, the age of 2 really seems to old to consider needing one. Just my opinion.
Reply:2 Years old is to old be using a pacifier. Get rid of it before he is attached to it and you have to break him of it. Teach him it is time to be a big boy and that big boys don't need bottles of pacifiers they eat with big boy spoons and forks and use big boy sippy cups. Make it fun for him to know that he is a big boy now.
Reply:If you had an overbite, it may be genetic and he may have crooked teeth no matter what. I hardly used a pacifier when i was young and never sucked my thumb, but i still had an overbite and needed braces, even needed teeth pulled in order to give more room for my other teeth.
A pacifier won't cause an overbite because it is actually very soft and he won't be constantly using it. Just make sure that he uses it sparingly. Create a behavior that he will associate with using the pacifier, like when you want to put him to bed or when he is hungry and you can't feed him right away for some reason. This way when he is fine, just show him affection and attention, so that he doesn't use the pacifier as a crutch instead of attention.
2 is kinda old to barely wean him off the bottle and to use a pacifier though. If anything, get him a sippy cup until he is old enough not to make a mess with a cup. But beware the sippy cup too. My niece is a sippy cup hog and she won't sleep unless she knows where it is. The funny thing is that when she doesn't want to carry it around, she just throws it across the room. She is dependant on it, and my sis is having the worst time trying to get her to stop using it.
Overbite is usually caused (if it is caused by an outside reason) by sucking the thumb, because the thumb is harder and the perfect shape that follows along the shape of the palate. I had a friend that sucked her thumb all the time and her mom gave our teacher permission to use hot sauce on her thumb if she saw her sucking her thumb. We were 7 an she already had a horrible overbite.
Reply:well, if he uses it all day long and all night, then yes it will hurt his teeth. i suggest taking it away and telling your mom to not give it to him he needs to learn how to comfort himself without itfor his own good. it was very hard with my daughter%26lt; i think we relied on it more than she did%26gt; but we finally cut off the tip and gave it to her. she said "broken" and threw it away. good luck!!!
Reply:Let him go cold turkey he will get over not having a bottle..
Reply:It will not make his teeth crooked persay but it will make his top teeth stick out slightly or more if he keeps using it, same with children that suck their thumb for a long period of time. It pushes on the top palate of the mouth and can push the teeth outwards.
It would not necessarily cause an overbite, just a shift in his teeth.

Can I be a news anchor and have crooked teeth?
I have always wanted to be a news anchor... but I have crooked teeth. I will maybe get braces soon... but just wondering... can u be an anchor with crooked teeth? Is it against the rules??
Can I be a news anchor and have crooked teeth?
they technically cannot discriminate based on your looks, but they can hire someone else over you.

Reply:No. You have to look your best. Unfortunatley you get hired by looks for this type of job.
Reply:No, you need to fix your teeth. Unfortunately appearance does matter on TV. Have you seen one single news reporter with crooked teeth?
Reply:I think it is very much against the rules. Of course, you never know when there will be a rebellion.
I think straightening your teeth will be fairly economical compared to some of the other expenses of getting there.

Q for men: Would a great personality trump crooked teeth?
I have been told I am pretty/cute and a very nice/caring person with a great personality. My one problem is that my teeth aren't all where they should be. Not rotting or anything, just crooked. If you met someone who was perfect other than noticably crooked teeth, would you look past that and still be interested, or would you walk quickly in the other direction?
(I am getting invisalign today- just thought I'd throw this Q out here....)
Q for men: Would a great personality trump crooked teeth?
It wouldn't bother you if you had a good personality and an otherwise attractive look. However, if you fix your teeth, you'll be a great catch.
Reply:Crooked teeth wouldnt matter that much.
Reply:You can always change crooked teeth but you can't change someone else's personality.
Reply:It depends on how crooked how great the personality is.
Reply:depends on how badly crooked teeth they are if it's minimal that's fine but if really looks bad then sorry speak to your orthodontist about getting something done about it.
Reply:we all have defects in some form or another.
some crooked teeth wouldn't bother me.

Reply:It is hard to get past something like that. You find yourself looking at it constantly.
Reply:It's a heck of a lot easier to fix teeth than it is a personality.
Reply:Omg, look how shallow some guys are. Its terrible, but I wouldn't give up hope because I know a couple of woman that have the crazyiest crooked teeth ever and they are actually married.
Reply:If crooked teeth bothered them that much, you wouldn't want to be with them anyway.
Reply:I wouldn't care that much about crooked teeth. I probably wouldn't even notice if I was really into someone.

Honestly the first thing I look at is a guys smile BUT it never would stop there unless he made it. I am in the same boat as you and just got braces and it sucks, and honestly I don't know which is more embarrassing! If a girl really was that shallow to only not like you because of your teeth why would you want to talk to her anyways?? It's all in you and your self confidence. If you think you are worth talking to you will be :)

It really depends on the girl's preferences. Teeth are very important to me and I say that if anyone could benefit from getting braces, then definately do so!!!

What is the evolutionary purpose for people to have crooked teeth?
I know many people get braces, sometimes to prevent infections and eating/heath difficulties.
And the wisdom tooth is commonly removed because it does not grow straight and may cause damange to the other teeth.
Why have humans evolved to have some people crooked teeth and other teeth alignment problems? (while some people have naturally straight teeth?)
What is it's purpose, if any?
What is the evolutionary purpose for people to have crooked teeth?
My dad was from an era when there was almost no intermarriage among different ethnicities. Even "white" people tended to marry those of similar background. In other words, a Brit would not marry a German or a Russian would not marry someone from France. Heck, most people wouldn't even marry someone from a different region of their own country. This made for a fairly homogenous gene pool and most people looked quite a bit alike. This is the reason we can look at someone and say, "He looks kind of Italian," and so on. There was a limited variation of features.
Once people - especially in the good old U. S. of A. - got to know each other and found that people from other regions of the world were not from the planet Mars, they started to intermarry; much to the dismay of the prior generation in most cases. When these marriages started to produce offspring, you could see that the baby got his eyes from Dad and his hair color from Mom, and so on. Well, it was only natural that, in some cases, the child might get Dad's huge teeth and Mom's tiny bone structure. My wife's teeth look exactly like her father's flat, square teeth and her brother's teeth look exactly like his mother's small and rounded teeth. Instead of getting teeth that fit nicely in the jaws, we started to see a jumbled up mess. I'm not saying that man never had crooked teeth prior to the 20th century, but it was my father's observation that far, far more people had crooked teeth when their parents were of differing ethnic backgrounds. The span of his career was from 1936 (dental school) to 1992, so he saw a lot in that time. I do believe that he was correct in assessing the social changes in America (and probably other countries) and the role it played in the growth of the specialty of orthodontics.
And don't forget (just as a sidebar) that having your teeth straightened by braces does not mean your children will be born with straight teeth.
There may be an evolutionary trend towards lower incidence of third molars in humans, but this kind of thing occurs over a period of thousands and thousands of years. I think we have seen an explosion of people with crooked teeth in just fifty years. There is no evolutionary purpose for having crooked teeth. Heck, if we were still living in caves and had no orthodontists, maybe the people with crooked teeth and crossbites would die off because they couldn't chew as well as their orthodontically correct brethren.

We didn't evolve to have crooked teeth. Crooked teeth is basically a disease (like a deviated septum) that most people survive with no problem. Hence, there is no evolutionary selection pressure to eliminate these issues--especially with the existence of orthodontic therapy.
Make no mistake about it, though, we are not "supposed" to have crooked teeth.

It really destroys my self esteem when i look this bad... i have horrible acne, crooked teeth im ugly and im very short... ive never had a girlfriend EVER in my life and im 19 years old. Am I screwed for life?
I have horrible acne, crooked teeth, im short and very ugly, how can I get a girlfriend?
no go 2 the doctor about ur acne they can treat that now adays, go to the dentist about ur teeth and hav a brace and in 3 months you could look like a diff person, otherwise yeh u wud be screwed for life
Reply:No. Does it really matter what you look like on the outside? If a girl is seeking a true/wholesome relationship, she would care less if you looked like Shrek.
Or you have the option of plastic surgery to better your odds.
Reply:Why would you need a girlfriend then???? too much money just call an Escort service, they will make you feel like you are tom cruise
Reply:Do you have health insurance? If you do you can see your doctor for the acne, it is curable these days and no one has to live with it.
And you can see your dentist for your teeth. If you do not have health insurance you should either apply for medical coupons or see if you can get on your parents insurance or get a job that provides medical and dental.
After you take care of those things you should go to college, get a loan if you have to, girls love men with good jobs, we don't care how tall you are.
Good luck!
Reply:Do what you can for your appearance. Confidence is key to attracting a girl.
Reply:OK....you can get your teeth straightened for a start. You can then go to a skin specialist and get your skin cleared up. Doesnt matter about you being short. ..the best things come in little packages !!!!! At 19 I doubt verymuch that you are ugly...its only your own perception of yourself!!! Anyway ugly men are usually sexier than the pretty men and have better personalities so work on your personality and you will have the girls clinging on to your arm. good luck and stop looking at yourself in a bad light. Bet you are really sexy in real life !!!!!
Reply:Realistically, not at all dude. But you GOT TO improve your outlook though. If you wanna make changes, make them. Nobdoby else will but you. Plus...your 19, dont be in such a rush. If these things are REALLY bothering you, then set out goals and put them in order in which you want too reach them. Then once you have accomplished these, you should feel alot better about yourself. Of course, the only change you cant make is your height. But since when does height make a a man BIG? Trust me, Im sure theres quite a few tall people that are just as self-conscios as you are. But they accept the fact that this is the way that GOD made them, and the same is for you. Trust me, I have been where you are PLENTY of times, and I know the feelin brother. But trust me, it does get better. Hope I have helped...
Reply:You are not messed up for life and I am sure you do not look half as bad you think. You must think more positive about yourself. There is treatment for acne, ask your doctor or your pharmacist. You really need to feel better about yourself. Crooked teeth can be fixed as well, sometimes with braces. You must check these things out and stop feeling so bad about the way you look. I'm sure you're a wonderful young man and don't forget Beauty comes from within.

Reply:First of all, you're not screwed for life. What your life is like at 19 is very different from how it is at 50, at 30, or even at 22.
Secondly, many options are available. Try Proactiv for the acne. Everyone I know who's used it swears by it. See about getting braces. Invisalign is a good way to go; you'll be less self-conscious about them. If you don't have the money for that, regular braces take less time than you'd think to kick in. Plus, some girls dig metal-mouths, and all girls appreciate a guy who takes interest in his appearance.
Third, if you have none of these options, then find a girl who has horrible acne, crooked teeth, is short and very ugly. You know that appearance doesn't define the person, it only defines part of their circumstance. Maybe you'll meet your soulmate and she'll happen to share your insecurities.
Reply:go to skin a care specialist to fix your acne, get braces, go lift some weights or lose some weight. You'll raise your chances of getting laid if you do those things. I'm being serious. Dont listen to those people who say "dont worry about your looks...just have a good personality." I thinks thats BS... you need BOTH....nawww meannnn????

Do you think that a girl with crooked teeth is always ugly?
Okay, so I'm 14. I'm 4'11 (yes, short.) Dirty blond hair, green eyes, and a small, little button nose. I've been told I'm pretty. I think I'm alright.. definitely room for improvment.. But, I do have crooked teeth. Not to the point where it's terrible, but it is noticable after a while. I'm getting braces eventually, in less than a year. I can't right now because my Dad is having some money problems with the government, so it will still be a while. I'm just curious as to if you think a girl with crooked teeth can't be pretty?
Do you think that a girl with crooked teeth is always ugly?
i dont think a girl with crooked teeth is ugly unless theyre really really crooked and she has a big old ugly gap. but the way you described it it isnt that bad. it seems like you have pretty hair and pretty eyes ( i ALWAYS wanted green eyes) so they definitely make up for what you have in the oral department. i woudlnt worry about it too much, especially since your havign financial problems and theres nothing you can do now. just keep them clean and white cause crooked yellow teeth are NOT pretty!

What do i do about my crooked teeth?
in first grade, i got teeth pulled- four of the top in the front, and four on the bottom in the front. my problem is that the top four are symmetrically crooked. and the teeth that grew in, grew in symmetrically but are not straight. same as the bottom. my teeth would be perfect if the four on top and bottom were straightened. the thing is, getting braces on during your junior year in highschool is embarrassing, and most likely the braces will not come off until the middle of college. i was thinking invisalign, but i think it will be too expensive. does anybody have suggestions? or costs/duration of either? thank you.
What do i do about my crooked teeth?
Braces is your best option. Technology has changed making treatment time shorter. Usually, with invisalign, at the end of treatment they add braces to align the teeth into a better position. Invisalign is only designed to treat malocclusion's that are almost perfect.
Reply:not true. i had braces put on as a freshman due to the fact that my front teeth were crowded and crooked. i only had to have braces for a year and a half. you should be fine. do it asap. you won't regret it
Reply:invisaline would be the only way i think if you dont want braces

Should I get Dental Veneers for 2 missing teeth and crooked teeth?
I was thinking of getting veneers for my upper teeth. The thing is, I am missing total of 3 teeth and my teeth are very crooked.. so much that even though I have 3 missing teeth you cannot tell because they moved into the places of the missing teeth (I had tooth crowding before). My dentist told me I need braces, and then once space is made where my teeth are missing I will need dental implants.
But I thought that maybe just skipping the braces part and getting veneers would solve this faster .... can someone help me out on this. Will this work?
Should I get Dental Veneers for 2 missing teeth and crooked teeth?
go for the braces. it will make you feel a lot better about your teeth. and you will have your natural teeth instead of fake ones.
faster isnt always better. veneers are only a temporary fix, they will break eventually, and you'll have to pay for new ones. whereas teeth last a lifetime. do the braces
Reply:yes, it may be more expensive and take less time. but it is totally up to you.

Can crowns fix crooked teeth?
I'm getting braces very soon. But can crowns also fix crooked teeth? I'm 13 so I dont know If I can have crowns.
Can crowns fix crooked teeth?
Only if very minor correction was needed for one or two teeth. At 13 years of age crowns are not recommended.
Reply:Crowns can fix crooked teeth. I have some on my front teeth both on the top and bottom. Those teeth are straighter and more even than they were before I had the crowns put on. However, I wouldn't recommend that as a way to straighten teeth. Preparing teeth for crowns is a tedious and painful procedure plus it's also expensive.
Reply:uh, yes honey it is a tooth right

It's not braces... but rather a clear plastic fitted sleeve they put over your teeth to straighten them. Takes about a year.
If you're looking for a quicker fix, veneers are popular. They are simply porcelin covers that are molded onto your teeth to make them look perfect, but they can be rather expensive. A slightly cheaper solution is tooth bonding. Bonding typically only lasts 3-10 years though, and can range from 3-800 per tooth. Bonding acts in the same way veneers do, but isn't as high quality or long lasting.

I had braces for 5 years !!! my teeth are crooked again!!!?
i got them on when i was 10 thro till 15 I am now 25
my mother has exceptionally crooked teeth and she had braces TWICE and teeth removed to see if it made a difference but it didn't work - but that was then AND THIS IS NOW
is there any NEW way of correcting crooked teeth
HELLPPP - from "buk tooth gumpy"
proffesional advice appreciated
I had braces for 5 years !!! my teeth are crooked again!!!?
keep wearing your retainer
Reply:wow. what did you do? darn, thats a shame of , wow, that's a waste of a lot of money for all the brace work and materials and oh man, i'm sorry
Reply:should have kept that palate.
Your mouth will like reorange or something like that until your thirty. then it will fully settle down.
Reply:Do you have a retainer? If so you need to wear it every night. Or get a permanent wire put in at the back of your teeth.
Reply:after taking your braces off theres something ur sentist should give u its called "plates"
you should put them every night or day afetr your braces have been removed !! to make sure your teeth stay straight !
Reply:See if you're an invislign candidate.
Did you recieve a retainer?
Reply:There is a dentist in Madagascar that is famous for his work. Look him up. His proffesional name is Dr. Snagglecrook. Good luck.
Reply:I'd agree, keep up with a retainer. Or Invisline / Invisalign. I had braces for 2 years, mostly for some spacing between my teeth. Some spaces have come back, but not too horribly. I plan to go back to my orthodontist and seeing what I can do... such as getting another retainer, or the Invisiline / Invisalign deal going. Good luck!
Reply:feeling sorry for you.
You should kept on your retainers when you were a teen and your teeth should of kept its shape. Your teeth will keep rearranger until you are an adult.
Reply:After finishing Ortho treatment, patients should wear their retainers to maintain the treatment results as long as possible, wearing retainers is recommended for the rest of your life. your gum fibers have memory in them, and when braces change your teeth position, these fibers get stretched and compressed, so if you don't wear your retainer after finishing your ortho treatment, these fibers try to get back to their original shape by bringing your teeth to the way they were before starting treatment, that's what's called relapsing. unfortunately, the only way to correct your teeth again is to have braces one more time, you might be a candidate for invisalign, but don't expect it to be cheaper than conventional ortho treatment, and usually its not as capable correcting extreme cases as well.
Reply:i have the same deal i have braces for the second time i think you should get braces again ask ortho to leave them on longer than normal then wear retainers

Aren't crooked teeth gorgeous?
There are a lot of celebs with crooked teeth like Madonna, Kirsten Dunst, and Jewel. I just find them so appealing in women (they add character.) What do you think?

I have crooked teeth, so I don't smile and people think I'm mean...?
...I can't get braces cause I'm 19, I have crooked teeth so I don't smile because I'm embarrassed, and people think I'm mean and look unapproachable.
I have crooked teeth, so I don't smile and people think I'm mean...?
I was told by an orthodontist that you can have braces fitted any time in your adolescent/adult life. If those crooked teeth are ruining your life at 19 (one of the best ages to be!), get them sorted out before things get worse!
Reply:You can get braces at any age. I would look into it, so maybe you can feel more confident about your smile. I bet it's really nice!

Cosmetic Dental query, regarding Crowns, implants, and crooked front teeth?
I am hoping to have cosmetic dentistry soon, but typically my teeth are complicated. My two front teeth are crowns, crooked ones at that. I'm presuming that two new porcelain veneers would only provide me with two new crooked teeth, so I've looked into titanium implants. If I had two front teeth left to straighten there would surely be no problem, but how can you straighten stumps? I believe my only option to be starting from scratch, with two straight crowns on two straight implants.
Any help much appreciated.
Cosmetic Dental query, regarding Crowns, implants, and crooked front teeth?
If you have crowns on your two front teeth veneers aren't an option, your teeth are already prepped for crowns there isn't enough tooth structure for veneers.Your dentist may be able to prep them to appear straighter it depends on how crooked they are.Minimal corrections can be made relatively easily however if there is significant distortion it may be pessary to do a little more.My advise to you is don't extract your own teeth for an aesthetic issue. If at all possible its best to keep your own teeth as apposed to implants .
Reply:I think they can make the veneers fit over the crooked teeth so that they appear straight.
Reply:cowns can solve all the problems but you might need to go for a root canal treatment to remove the nerve so that the dentist can over prepare the tooth to straighten it up

Invisalign or clear braces for crooked teeth?
i know there is a TON of orthodontist or assistants in this site or experienced peoeple. SO i'm thinking of getting invisalign and/or clear braces (the brackets are clear just only a wire) i found pics that look exactly well close to my teeth.
my bottom teeth looks like this womans bottom teeth

soo which is best for me? please anything will help =). oh and that girl in the last pic IS NOT me but we have the same teeth =P
Invisalign or clear braces for crooked teeth?
Invisalign may not be the best choice as it is usually reserved for cases requiring less tooth movement or rotation although their website would have you as a candidate -http://www.invisalign.com/generalapp/us/...
Clear braces are a fine choice ( I had them ) and will probably cost less than invisalign.
Honestly, the best idea is to have a consultation with an orthodontist. They will evaluate your mouth and probably take some xrays and models of your teeth. Then at the next appointment tell you your options as far as choices, cost and how much time it will take for treatment. After you have more information you can make an educated descision.
Good luck!

Braces are now fixed on your teeth INSIDE and not outside anymore.
It is the same bracing system, but from the backside INSIDE the mouth, not towards the lips.

Can tooth contouring / reshaping fix crooked teeth?
Hi..
I was wondering if anyone knew if crooked teeth could be reshaped to look straight? (without braces)
Thanks
Can tooth contouring / reshaping fix crooked teeth?
Without seeing your case, it's really not possible to say. If you are referring to front teeth only and only a small amount of misalignment, perhaps that can be achieved with bonding or veneers. A gap between the teeth can be filled in nicely with cosmetic dentistry. But if you are referring to very crooked teeth and that includes the back teeth, there is no way around having braces in order to straighten them correctly. See your dentist for his/her professional opinon. This is just one of those things you have to see in person to be able to evaluate.
Good luck.
Reply:Yes of course you can. You need to go to a good cosmetic dentist since they have the most experience in it. They can make your teeth straight by contouring, reshaping, vaneers, crowns. You would be amazed what they can do to your teeth for a hefty price of course- smile.

Advice on getting my crooked teeth fixed a.s.a.p?
I have crooked bottom teeth. The front four are crooked. I have two back teeth that became decayed a few months ago and I do not have a regular dentist. I couldn't afford it before. I have very low confidence on finding a perfect dentist who will understand me and give me the best advice. What should I do?
Advice on getting my crooked teeth fixed a.s.a.p?
You have to see a dentist and ask him for a referral to an orthodontist who are the specialists in making teeth braces. It might be a bit costly but it will be all worth it. You might know of some friends or relatives or other people who had the same problem. You might want to talk to them for some advice and good referrals.
I had very crooked teeth and some even one on top of the other like dracula. Now, they're all perfectly straight.
Reply:Braces
Reply:See a dentist to clean up your teeth and get braces...
Reply:Call around several dentists in your area to check to see whether they will meet with you for a consultation (hopefully for free). This will give you the opportunity to meet them in person, check out the office, and see whether you would like to work with them. Come prepared with questions and if price is a concern, also use the opportunity to "shop around" for the deal that works best for you. Good luck.
Reply:You should ask friends and family about a dentist they would suggest to you. If there is no one around who can give you advice about a dentist they think is understanding and kind then you should just try to find a dentist in your area. If you go there the first time and you don't like how they treat you, you never have to go back. It might take some time, but it will be worth it when you find the perfect one for you.
Reply:Well, If you are not happy with your smile.. Then Yes, you should fix it. Sounds to me like you need braces, and some teeth removed.. If you can't afford it, there are some Assistance programs that you can apply for. Why would you think a dentist would not understand you? That's wait they get paid for.. To understand, help, and restore or fix a smile.
Reply:Ask around, maybe your friends could suggest a good dentist? I've had bad dentists before too.
And get braces! If your bottom teeth are crooked due to crowding, that usually gets fixed pretty quick (things like overbites take alot longer to fix). You can get invisalign (which is more expensive than traditional), clear or even braces on the backs of your teeth. And remember to brush and floss, and you may want to use a mouth rinse with flouride if you live in an area without flouridated water! (like Oral B). Good Luck!
Reply:If I were you, I'd go see a dentist and then an orthodontist who specializes in braces. With overcrowding of teeth, you may have to have a couple extractions to make room. Both a dentist and an orthodontist can be found in the Yellow Pages but a reference from someone you know who wears braces would be best. If you tell the doctors your financial situation, they may be able to set you up with a reasonable payment plan. Don't expect a quick-fix. Braces are often worn for a couple years or more.
Reply:Depending on your insurance or your budget your choices may be limited. Remember that you have the right to ask as many questions as you want BEFORE saying "Ahhhh".
Even ask to sit down with your dentist prior to going into the exam room.
First deal with the two decayed teeth. A cavity can affect your whole health. You may, depending on your comfort level, want to make apointment for each procedure.
Also read about dentists on line. What happens and what you should expect. Take a friend with you to hold your hand.
Reply:Braces, don't be embarrased. I had braces my senior year

My top teeth are really crooked. Will braces make them straight?
I have seen people who have gotten braces and they still have crooked teeth (not after they take it off but with the braces on). My top teeth are crammed and i have a tooth growing above the others and it looks really bad. Will braces (and a good doctor) make them straight?
Also is it all made straight at once or over time because i would like the one growing on top to be moved down immediately so nobody can see it slowly being moved down. thank you for the replies.

not sure about the rest of your question.

Reply:yes..that is what braces are for..also retainers can help you too...hope you have the cash because they are expensive!!!
Reply:That's because it takes a while for them to get straight depending on how crooked they are. Get some and strighten out your teeth you'll be suprize of your confidence.
Reply:It will take 2-3yrs of painful monthly doctor visits...and of course you looking funny with braces for 3 yrs...and tooth extraction to make room for the teeth...and also...mouth sores from the constant rub of metal in your lips... did i mention the bad breath because of the food stuck between your braces?... and of course the pain and more pain...

I think that if you have the right orthodontist, your teeth will eventually (that's the key word) look really great! :)

Reply:your teeth straighten over time with the braces on not all at once. Yes your teeth will be straight after you wear the braces.
Reply:Okay a dentist is the one to ask.
An oral surgeon will most likely be needed. He will address the wisdom teeth and surgically remove any of them. Do it.
Bite the Bullet- You will never regret that choice.
Get the braces, they hurt and its rough for a few years, but worth it all at the end of the journey. Then get those teeth whitened after they are OFF. Wear that retainer all the time, you need to for at least a year or forever.
I still have a permanent retainer on the back of my teeth since 1982 and I have no reason to ever remove them. I still keep a mold of my original teeth in my medicine cabinet, next to my floss as a reminder of how beautiful they are now~
I wear a night guard (retainer like) at night to help with my jaws and grinding my teeth at night.
Ready for the scary part- You are looking at $4,000 to $7,000 worth of dental work. Don't freak. That is normal and worth every last penny of it. So be prepared to pay monthly like a car note for a few years. If your parents are getting them for you. Then realize that its very expensive and be thankful and appreciative to be so lucky!
Reply:Well braces wont straighten your teeth over night but over a period of time they will. As for the tooth growing in the wrong place if it is a supernumerary tooth(meaning an extra tooth) they will extract it(pull it out) but if it belongs and will fit in your mouth then Im sorry but it will have to slowly be moved down.

Reply:How old are you?
I ask this because the answer might depend on it. You need to see an orthodontist, who will be able to tell you if braces will help you or not. If you have really crammed upper teeth, it could be that your palate is too narrow. If you are young enough (under 18 or so), the dentist can fit you with a palate expander, which will widen your jaw and make room for all your teeth, and braces will get them all straightened out.
If you are over 18 or so, your palate has fused together, so cannot be expanded without serious surgery. If you are one of those people who needed their palate expanded, braces will not help you long-term. My husband is one of those people who should have had his palate expanded, but the orthodontist wasn't up on the newest treatments (this was 15 years ago), so didn't do it. He had braces for years and years and years, got them off, got them put on again, and now you would never ever know from looking at him. It is pretty sad, actually.
Hopefully, this isn't you, though! An orthodontist will be able to tell you for sure.
About the tooth growing in above the others- I had this too. The orthodontist put a brace at the very top of it instead of in the middle of the tooth, and pulled it down with rubber bands. It wasn't an immediate process, but it was really fast- it only took a few months. Even if you were to get it pulled, and then do an implant, getting an implant actually takes several months too, because they have to let everything heal after pulling the tooth, then inserting the post, letting that heal, and THEN doing the implant. Probably by the time the implant would get put in, the orthodontist would be able to pull that tooth down anyway.
The only way I know of to make teeth straight quickly is to get all your teeth filed down and get caps. I would rather go the braces route, though, because I want to keep as much and as many of my real teeth as possible.
Reply:First of all your dentist will tell you to get some tooth pull out and then the dentist will start putting braces on you. it also will take some time for them to get straight.
Reply:Yes. Moving teeth is not a fast process. I'm an adult; it took 20 months of treatment to straighten my teeth. Schedule a consultation appointment with an orthodontist. You'll find out everything you need to know.

Sorry.. Crooked teeth.?
Ok sorry. I have slightly crooked teeth. There not off by much but. Would it matter to a girl?
Sorry.. Crooked teeth.?
obviously everyone is different, but personally i LOVE crooked teeth. they bring out personality. i'd rather have someone with crooked teeth and accepts them, then someone who insists on having perfectly straight beaming white teeth all the time

Braces/really crooked teeth?
im 14 and i have very crooked teeth, well mainly in the fornt. i feel really insecure because of it, and truthfully i think im pretty ok looking but the teeth just makes it all bad. when i laugh i have my lips closed tight. its kind of annoying but anyways, do braces really straighten them all up and make them look perfect? or is there any way to make them straight and aligned?
Braces/really crooked teeth?
Braces will definitely fix your teeth. The best way to start is to make an appointment with an orthodontist. He will do an consultation and suggest what to do. Best of luck!
Reply:Braces will make your teeth straight, I would think thats you best option.

Are crooked teeth a total turn-off for men?
So, everyone tells me I'm totally hott, beautiful, sexy.. all the good stuff.... no arrogance here, but I can agree... BUT... my two front teeth are really crooked... one sticks out too far and one sinks back.....
is that a total turn-off even on a gorgeous woman?...
i feel like I should be happy with what I have and not conform to what others would think is better... not get braces, because spending $$$ on something cosmetic seems so shallow... what do you think?

Most men find these little imperfections "perfect"....they sometimes make a very beautiful woman seem a little more approachable because your aren't soooooo perfect...

Braces should only be worn if the teeth are so poorly out of line that it affects speech, eating or breathing...

If your teeth are crooked but white, you will at least look like you are taking care of yourself--not everybody MUST get braces. I only know about the pricier way to straighten teeth--braces or special trays. But really, keep your teeth and gums looking healthy and it doesn't matter how straight your teeth are unless they become a serious health problem. =]

Do crooked teeth turn you off from some one?
For example, I can think some one is extremely attractive, but if they have crooked teeth, I can't be with them. It will bother me to that extent. Is anyone else like this? Some one might consider this shallow, but I don't care, ok?

Invisalign, or braces for crooked teeth. HELP NOW! answer within 1 week please!?
So i'm 13 i need braces well half the people in my school needs braces but anyway. Which is better invisalign or clear ceramic braces for crooken teeth? My bottom once are pretty minor not so bad. it looks like this http://www.public.iastate.edu/~lora/lora...
except the two teeth the "fang" and the one next to it (left) on the right side is misplaced. the "fang" sticks out and the one next to it is pushed back a bit. but thats it.
top teeth looks like this http://photobucket.com/mediadetail/?medi...
but less crooked.
So i was wondering if..... you could help. Oh and NONE of these pictures are me or OWNED by me.

Braces are able to handle a much wider range of malocclusions. Also, being fixed on your teeth, you don't have to do anything to get results, unlike Invisalign where the onus is on you to use the plates regularly and properly. Modern braces are almost a fashion statement anyway, and you can always use clear brackets to make them less visible if you're self conscious.
Go the braces!
Reply:I actually went to an orthodontist 2 days ago to inquire about braces vs invisalign.
There are pros %26amp; conds to both of course.
with invisalign, it costs more, takes a while for them to get shipped to you and the results aren't guaranteed you may still need braces after. and not everbody is a candidate for theses either, especially if you need a lot of movement.
But with normal braces you can get the procilane brackets that blend with your teeth, so they dont look like tyical "train tracks"
they did the estimate and invisaligns would cost $6800 vs regular braces at $5600.
Personally, i think i'm gonna go with the normal, clear-bracket braces. I want guaranteed results!
Reply:I had braces like 4 years ago and i wanted Invisalign but my dentist said i couldn't because my "bite" was off so i had to go with the clear ceramic braces ... It really wasn't so bad and had them on for maybe 2 1/2 years. Just ask your dentist for tips on how to keep them clean and dont forget to wear your retainer afterwards!! your teeth will go back to the way it was if you dont wear it... I think right now is a great time to get them, so by the time you have take prom pics and High school graduating pics your teeth should look great by then.
Good Luck

Cosmetic dentistry to fix crooked teeth?
i have crooked upper front teeth particularly the canines, with them both sticking out forwards at an angle. i didnt wear braces at school, cos i was picked on a lot and I dont want to wear braces now cos im in my twenties and i will need to wear them fo 3-4 years
is it possible to get my teeth fixed using just veneers or is this treatment only for slightly crooked teeth.? is more extensive treatment required?
i am just researching it at the moment and looking into the costs to see if a can save up to afford it. if i can i will obviously consult a dentist for more details
Cosmetic dentistry to fix crooked teeth?
I don't know if you could use cosmetic denistry for that. Usually it is just for damaged teeth, not crooked. But you can look into getting those invisalign braces (they are really clear retainers) and wear those. My friend had them a few years ago and you couldn't notice them at all. those would probably work for you.
Reply:Crowns or veneers may be a possibility for you. Also, dont think braces will have to be worn 3-4 years, many times ortho treatment can be accomplished much more quickly, depending on the severity of your problem. If you are only concerned with the front teeth, definitely check with a cosmetic dentist.

My rat has malocclusion(crooked teeth) How do I trim his teeth?
My baby rat(5weeks old) has two front teeth that grow to the side. I researched this and found it's called malocclusion. On petrats.org it suggests regular teeth trimming but does not say how. Does anyone do this? How do you do this? I think they got pushed to the side when they were still soft because I've had him since he was two days old. I had to push the syringe in his mouth to feed him the formula. Anyway, they are very crooked, very very crooked. And the way they are growing I am fearful they will start to cut into the upper left part of his mouth. He does let me touch them and actually seems to like it when I scrape them with my fingernail when I'm petting him. But I don't think this is enough to wear them down. Any suggestions on something safe I can use to trim them? Thanks!
My rat has malocclusion(crooked teeth) How do I trim his teeth?
People mentioned that his teeth could cut his mouth, but they can do much more damage than that. If left untreated (untrimmed) they could eventually grow into his skull. Many wild rats with malocclusion die from their teeth growing into their skull because they either starve or the teeth eventually reach their brain. This is a very sad truth.
It would be best to go to the vet for the initial trimming. Try to make the experience as easy as possible for the little guy. Ask the vet how you might be able to do this yourself in the future since he will need continual trimmings.
Leave lots of chewable toys in his cage with him. Calcium blocks, salt blocks, Wooden toys. Make sure they are all tough things to chew on and encourage him to chew. This will help with the most of it depending on how much he chews and at what angle.
Good luck!
Reply:If they're that bad, they will have to be trimmed. Bad teeth will keep him from being able to eat properly. On rabbits I use toenail clippers for dogs, the big scissor type. On a small rat I would try cat or small dog sized toenail clippers. If the teeth are apart, do one at a time, if they are close together you have to do both at the same time. You have to be extremely careful not to get them too close to the gum. Try to judge how long they SHOULD be, and make sure you don't go closer. Clipping teeth can crack a tooth and cause it to split upward toward the gum, so unless you have no choice, I wouldn't attempt it until someone that knows how teaches you the proper way to do it. If you can't find a vet that actually knows how to do this, try calling rabbit breeders in your area. They should be happy to clip them for you, and let you watch, so you can do this at home in the future. If the teeth are malformed because of the syringe, there is a minor chance that clipping them will help them fall back into alignment. If it's a genetic problem, then you'll have to do this for the rest of his life so you need to learn how yourself.
Reply:i wish my cat could speak to answer this one !!!
Reply:I had one female rat who developed malocclusion with old age and her teeth started to cut her lower lip and caused an infection. The vet trimmed her teeth, but of course they kept growing back.
I would therefore seek vetinary advise to show you how to clip the teeth and to check your rat is in good health. However, if your rat's teeth are crooked now, I should think that they will always be crooked and will need to be trimmed very regularly. This can be stressful for the rat, and as another person pointed out - the teeth can split and get damaged.
One drastic solution is to have the rat's teeth removed:
http://www.cavyrescue.co.uk/rat-article2...
Again though, I think you should seek medical advice before your rat becomes uncomfortable and unable to eat.
Reply:rat dentist!!!
Reply:I don't recommend doing it yourself. A rat breeder, or similar animal breeder should be able to help you. But there are pictures of healthy and non-healthy teeth in there.
also, offer him some hard foods to chew on until you get them trimmed, it wont fix the problem but it'll keep them from being too sharp, since he cant likely grind them together.

Reply:The easiest way I've found is to use cat nail clippers. They are small enough to fit into a rat's mouth, can "wrap" around the tooth, and you don't have to worry so much about accidentally clipping the tongue. I have also used human nail clippers with good results, but prefer the cat clippers as they seem safer.
On another note, rabbit breeders won't necessarily know how to trim the teeth. Malocclusion is often a genetic problem in rabbits, and good breeders don't breed rabbits with this trait, so they won't generally have much experience with it. A vet or a local rat rescue is a better option if you want to have someone show you.
Reply:I dont think your rat needs it's teeth trimmed.
If it seems to be hurting the rat then you should, but if it doesnt, why bother?

Crooked teeth and veneers??
Can veneers fix crooked teeth no matter how misagligned they are? Or can they only fix minor crookedness?
Crooked teeth and veneers??
Veneers can fix misaligned teeth, but the fix is not as permanent as having braces. Veneers are quicker, and may not be as expensive as braces in the short run. But most veneers will need to be replaced every 3-5 years; your teeth will be extremely sensitive when they begin to degrade and fall off; this makes them expensive in the long run because they will need to be replaced.
Reply:yes they can be fixed. its absolutely amazing what technology has enabled us to do these days.

My wisdom teeth are coming in, and paranoid about crooked teeth?
they hurt all the time. i have always had very straight teeth (only one in my fam) i really hate crooked teeth. a friend told me that when your teeth come out the rest of the teeth have to move. thus making your teeth all nasty. what can i do to prevent them from getting crooked?
My wisdom teeth are coming in, and paranoid about crooked teeth?
pull out the teeth under the wisdom teeth. sorry that the only way to prevent it from happening.
Reply:That's actually a myth that wisdom teeth shift your teeth. My dentist told me that a published study came out when he was in college that your wisdom teeth don't affect the position of your teeth. But it is recommended to get them out anyway for better oral hygiene. After they come out, you should get a lower permanent retainer. Your teeth will never shift if you get that bottom retainer cemented onto your teeth. Your teeth will shift and get crooked if you don't have a lower retainer.
EDIT: You said they're impacted; You need to have them looked at by your dentist. That's the only way you can really get rid of the pain. Don't wait too long because you could have/get an infection.
Reply:That is not necessarily true. If you have enough room in your jaw, you should not have problems with overcrowding. If you are having problems with your wisdom teeth and are in pain, they could be impacted (meaning they are partially erupted through the gum, but not all the way) and those can get infected. If the pain persists, you probably should to to the dentist and have them looked at.
Reply:the only way to prevent your dentition from crowding is to remove your wisdom teeth . By doing that, you will avoid 1. crowding 2. infection 3. more pain
Our jaw bones are getting smaller and many of us do not have room for the our wisdom teeth (3rds). The reason they hurt all the time is because they are pushing against your good teeth. Your wisdom teeth will come in wether you want it or not, so they will force themselves into your jaw bone, and if they are impacted (sideways) you probably wont get crowding, but you are suceptable to infection. Because your wisdom teeth far back, and your molars are impacted, your toothbush cannot reach back there, so you can get infections. Also, dentists suggest that you get your wisdom teeth removed when you are young, rather than when you are older. The older you are, more healing time is required (although varies on the individual). I used to work for an oral surgeon and our job was 70% wisdom teeth extractions. 16-23 would be a good age to get them removed, but if they are hurting, i would see a dentist for their opinion. Good luck.

By doing that, you will avoid 1. crowding 2. infection 3. more pain

Dogs crooked teeth?
is it possible for dogs to grow crooked teeth?
and is it possible for dogs to get braces so they could straighten there teeth?
Dogs crooked teeth?
It definitely is possible for dogs to have crooked teeth-- mine does! lol
And no, I do not think dogs would ever have braces. Rather absurd. Just make sure you brush them (with dog toothpaste!) and get them cleaned at the vet at least every year.

My Crooked Teeth troubles?
I have crooked teeth. One of my front teeth(the 2 front ones) Is slanted a bit. And i never realized this. There were a few girls i wanted to talk to at school but now im afraid to talk to them. Im afraid that as soon as i open my mouth they will be disgusted on the inside and i will be playing myself for a fool just by talking to them. Im getting braces but i don't have them yet. I just can't stop stressing over this and its kind of making me a bit depressed to be honest. I don't know what to do, i asked 1 girl and she said it was fine and i could get them fixed. (But its not like i was asking her out, i wonder what she would of said then). Im just very worried about this, i would like to talk to the girls soon but this is really dragging me down.

It's great that you are getting braces! I had braces too because I used to have a gap in between my 2 front teeth and now my teeth are perfect! It really does make you feel better about yourself. As far as your girl troubles I don't think that any girl that would turn you down based on something as shallow as your teeth being crooked is even worth your time anyway. Find a girl that is actually a good person and not some stuck up girl that is superficial and only cares about looks. I would never turn a guy down for something as stupid as the way their teeth look. I would only turn them down if they were a jerk. Anyway, good luck with the girls and your braces. Just find a good girl :)
Reply:relax. i think you are blowing this all out of proportion. i think everyone i know who hasnt needed braces has crooked teeth. its not a big deal. no one notices, and ps- all my friends are very beautiful. so dont freak out, feel good about yourself. confidence is what will get you results with girls. its your confidence they will notice, or lack of, not your teeth.
Reply:Boy, don't u worry about a thing just think of all the positive things about urself, just hang in there until u get ur braces; and plus if ur stressing out alot then ur gonna get pimples and u dont want a pimple showing when ur trying to talk to girls. But just hang in there until u get those braces in.

Are crooked teeth really terrible?
My four front teeth are pretty crooked.. that's it though. I'm getting braces eventually when my dad can afford it.. probably in like 4 months.. do guys care if your teeth arent perfect? just curious.. i've been told i have a pretty face..
Are crooked teeth really terrible?
Well, I know you must be self conscious about it. Nice teeth are important but what's more important is self confidence. A smile looks pretty on anyone, crooked teeth or not. You are unique!
Reply:I personally think it gives people character. My best friend has crooked teeth and I was kinda sad she is getting them strighten because they really do not look bad.
Reply:your teeth define your health. have your dad talk to your orthodontist about a payment plan. good oral hygeine and treatment is a great gift your father can give you.
Reply:dont worry most americans get braces WAY too early. give your teeth some time to grow and mature
Reply:It depends entirely on the guy :)
I know that crooked teeth can be a cause of all sorts of problems because it can be hard to clean them if they are overlapping etc :)
Good luck with the braces :)
xx
Reply:A good smile goes a long way.
Reply:yes perfect teeth are hot. you never see a hot girl with messed up teeth.
its the truth
