...I can't get braces cause I'm 19, I have crooked teeth so I don't smile because I'm embarrassed, and people think I'm mean and look unapproachable.

I was told by an orthodontist that you can have braces fitted any time in your adolescent/adult life. If those crooked teeth are ruining your life at 19 (one of the best ages to be!), get them sorted out before things get worse!
