I have an appointment tomorrow to remove my two wisdom teeth on my right side of my mouth. I had the two on my left side removed last month and everything went fine.
I am nervouse about this time because my bottom right wisdom tooth is crooked, and it is close to a vain. My top right wisdom tooth grew in straight, so I am not worried about that one.
Can anyone tell me how painful the procedure is to take out a crooked bottom wisdom tooth? what is the procedure like? how am I going to feel afterwards?
Crooked wisdom teeth help!!!?
the same procedure will be done to you...preparation for extraction is quite the same as any extraction procedure. just prepare yourself for a longer operating time and cost. if you're quite comfortable with your dentist, you don't have to worry.
pain is a state of mind. you know that there will be pain...because you will, in fact undergo extraction/surgery. it will be best if you do not stress yourself right after the procedure...apply cold pack on/near the extraction site, take your pain meds, and if your dentist prescribed antibiotics take them. no stenous activities for 3 days, soft diet and regular mouth cleaning may help.
if anything goes wrong after, you'll be the first one to feel it. tell your dentist immediately...delays may cause bigger problems. besides, you trust your dentist.
Reply:its not that paintful. i was asleep when i had mine done, but i felt better later that day. you just get a little woozy when you wake up.
Reply:It shouldnt be any different then the first time. A crooked wisdom tooth isnt uncommon, I'm sure the surgeon sees it all the time.
Reply:Maria,
If you have already had two of the wisdom teeth remove on the left and everything went fine, then the teeth on the right will probably go the same way. It sounds as if the lower right is impacted more than the left, so sometimes the gum is lifted and a little bone removed and the tooth cut into a couple of pieces, you will be a little more tender after this process and you may have some stitches in place. I would take it easy for a couple of days, there may be a little bruising and swelling.
The vain(vein) you talk about in probably the nerve that runs through the jaw bone, one of the risks with having wisdom teeth out is that this nerve can be bruised or damaged which can lead to temporary or permanent lip numbness, most dentists oral surgeons will warn you of this and also give you an indication of risk level. Basically it won't necessarilly be harder just becasue it is a little crooked. If you had two teeth out last week and it all went fine, it sounds as if who ever is taking the teeth out is very good at what they do.
Reply:I HAVE EVERY CNFIDENCE THAT EVERYTHING WILL BE JUST FINE. DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT, ALL WILL BE WELL. THE DISCOMFORT WILL BE LIKE IT WAS THE LAST TIME.
