I have very crooked teeth and it makes me feel like sh*t?

It bothers me when people only stare at my teeth when i talk to them... And a lot of the times, it's like people can't take me sriously. I'm 15 and really, if my teeth were in place, i'd actually be more confident and more attractive. None of the teeth in the front are in place and it's basically very crowded. I get shy to talk to people because of this. I think I am getting braces soon. But do they really work?

Of course they work. Get them. Short price to pay for how long they might have to stay on for being in love with the end result.


Even grown up adults get braces all the time.
Reply:They do... they're a huge pain in the ***, and if your teeth are as bad as you say there are, you may have to have teeth removed, wear a spreader to make your jaw bigger or wear headgear. That being said, you do get used to them.
Reply:I had the same problem - I was very embarrassed of my teeth and it bothered me a lot. But my mom didn't have the money to give me braces.





I waited until college when I could pay for them myself. It took two years and a lot of pain, but now my teeth are beautiful and I love my smile!!

Reply:Yeah they work. I know cuz' my cousin. Get braces as soon as possible and you'll get perfect teeth in no time. And the good thing is that some people think braces are fasionable and you might get a good reputation since they cost alot of money. =)

Reply:braces take some time, and also, everybody has some type of a flaw, some are skinny, some are chubby, some have acne and others are just plain unattractive, you just happen to have one of the many, crooked teeth, but hey, at least it's fixable. good luck.

Reply:braces work great. I had them for 2 years, and before I got them my teeth were a mess, and now they look perfect. Braces are painful thought, but only after you get them tightened, and for a couple weeks after you get them on. Just make sure to always wear any elastics they give you and follow their instructions and your teeth will really improve!

Reply:YES! braces really work. when i was younger my teeth were really crooked and messed up. after 4 years of braces, my teeth were straight! it's been 10 years since they've been off and they are still just as straight as when the braces first came off! not gonna lie though, when the braces are first put on, your mouth is gonna hurt like h*ll for a few days. have plenty of ibuprofen and soup on hand lol. also, depending on what your doctor thinks, you may be able to get "invisible" braces and they won't be as noticeable. my advice is to get braces. it'll be worth it to make you more confident and let your true self shine!
