I have gingivitis. My teeth are crooked at the top. The tooth decay is on the bottom of my mouth and has been controlled because I am undergoing treatment. However, I desperately want braces. Under what conditions will this be a viable option?

The braces will make it even harder for you to maintain good oral hygiene, which will make the gingivitis even worse.





The next time you go to your dentist to continue your treatment, you should ask him how to properly maintain your oral hygiene to prevent gingivitis. Once you can demonstrate that you can keep the plaque off your teeth and maintain healthy gums, you should be able to get braces.

Reply:well braces or orthodontic treatment is usually planned after evaluating the periodontal status of a patient which includes gums and bone surrounding tooth structure, age of patient and other factors like any other serious ailment and most important kind of or type of movement required which can be evaluated only by clinical examination , consult your orthodontist for the needfull!
Reply:I think treating gingivitis should be the first priority, since it could advance up to other dental and health problems in the future. Try finding a cure for your gingivitis first, since your gums are the bases for your braces and it may get further infected by them. try a cure that won't irritate and less harmful to your gums for faster healing.
