if there are any specialised dentists here, please tell me how long should one wear braces to straighten slightly crooked teeth.?? is their any alternative to braces?

It just depends on how much work your teeth need. It takes a long time to move teeth around and it is a gradual process. I have to have mine on for at least 18 months and then a retainer at night forever. I do modeling tand am using the invisalign ones. You cant even see them. They are a series of plastic trays that snap over your teeth and slowly move them. You change to a new tray every two weeks and then see the dentist once a month to see if the teeth are moving how they are spossed to. It is sure better than all those rubber bands...plus I can eat popcorn!!

Reply:It depends on how crocked it is. If it is not really bad i would say 2-4 years. I had to get mine for about 1 year and a half because it wasn't so bad. Again it depends i say the longest you can wear it is about 4-5 years. You can wear braces even if you have a little crocked teeth. But you have to wear then if you have an overbite. If you really don't want braces there are invisible ones.
