How do i prevent crooked teeth?

I worked for a dentist that told kids that had crooked front teeth to take a popcicle stick and use it to push the teeth forward or push them backward. He said to do that when watching T.V. The small amount of pressure over time would move the teeth.

How do i prevent crooked teeth?
I don't think there's really a way to prevent it once it starts to show signs...just try to get braces to fix them asap.
Reply:Not much you can do to prevent them, in mild cases retainers may help them from shifting but only braces will straighten very crooked teeth.

Would you rather have crooked teeth with the inability to afford braces, or severe gingivitis?

You HAVE to pick one.

Crooked teeth. You might not look your best but at least your gums won't bleed.

How do you prevent crooked teeth in dogs/shih tzus?

Your dog was bred as a show dog so likely came from a very responsible breeder

who chose only to breed pairs who were genetically sound and had good jaws and teeth, who likely showed and had them titled meaning they past the test for breed standard and conformance to the breed which mean the parent had to have straight teeth as well and that is why your pup had a good set of teeth.

Other breeders only breed for money, they don't care enough to do genetic testing or to pick only the best specimens of the breed and that is why so many shih tzu's have crappy teeth both in formation and density and will have under or overshot jaws, all they care about is having a male and female mate and produce puppies, once they get $300 to $500 they don't care if the pup has seizures or heart or kidney problems or any thing else

It takes a lot of homework to find a good breeder who breeds for quality. I would say less than 20% of the shih tzu breeders out the are reputable and breed for quality the othe 80% are breeding for the almightly dollar and are doing it as cheaply as they can to maximize profits

How do you prevent crooked teeth in dogs/shih tzus?
what do you do about Tirya's buck teeth

and married to troll (dogsdogman's) unusually small penis? Report It

Reply:People are gong to think this is nuts but I've actually seen braces on some dogs. Especially Shih tzus!
Reply:If we could prevent crooked teeth in mammals, don't you think we'd do it to humans?
Reply:Any smush-faced breed is going to have crooked teeth. It's a genetic problem associated with the deformed shape of their face. A canine is supposed to have a long jaw to support all those teeth, when you breed them to have shorter faces, the teeth get smushed and end up crooked. There's really nothing you can to to prevent it. If you don't like the way it looks, buy a long-nosed breed.
Reply:If you are going to get a breed that is prone to crooked teeth then you can expect it. I have never heard of dog braces for teeth. That sounds like someone that has way too much money. If the dogs bite is off and it is unable to eat properly then have the problem teeth removed

Death Cab For Cutie, "Crooked Teeth"...?

Are the lyrics,

"with rotten wood that decayed from the start" or

"with rotten wood meant to cave from the start" ?

You'll probably say 'the first one' because if you look it up online, that's what every site says... but listen to the song. Sometimes it really sounds like a 'v' in there.

Are the lyrics in the liner notes? I don't have the actual album, just a burned copy, so idk. Can someone give me definite proof? (i.e. from an official DCFC site or liner notes)

thanks :]

Are you born with crooked teeth as a gene... or is it something that developes over time?

Usually it's genetic. If you have crooked teeth, your child is likely to, unless the other parent has naturally straight teeth and they have their genes.

Crooked teeth can develop with injury, etc., or sometimes the jaw is too small to accomodate all the adult teeth, but then again, that in itself is usually a genetic thing.

I've often thought about all these gorgeous actors/actresses who have had their teeth, noses, boobs, eyes, and everything else done. I wonder how it hits them when they have NORMAL kids with crooked teeth and big noses! The kids aren't going to inherit their corrected imperfections!

Are you born with crooked teeth as a gene... or is it something that developes over time?
I think it's something thatdevelopes over time
Reply:it develops over time
Reply:I personally think it develops over time and I think it depends on how fast you pulled out wiggly teeth as a kid. I personally pulled them out ASAP and all of mine are straight, but my bro always waits to the last minute (sometimes two teeth in one spot) and his are growing crooked... hope that helps...
Reply:That develops over time but if you pull your teeth out sooner they are more likely to not be crooked.
Reply:people who live in england have crooked teeth, and green teeth!
Reply:genetics dear! you gain these great features from parents and gradparents

I only have a few crooked teeth. like 2 or 3 are crooked. do i need braces?

assk your sdentist. If its optional and its up to you you decide on what you want. If they can affect your jaw then probally yes.

I only have a few crooked teeth. like 2 or 3 are crooked. do i need braces?
ask your dentist
Reply:i have the same thing....my dentist said i MIGHT need a retainer, but that's just me!.....u should probably ask ur dentist/orthodontist......
Reply:Well, the problem is that when you correct the 2 or 3 teeth that are crooked that makes the other teeth have to be shifted too to make room to straighten them. My guess is that you probably could get by without braces but as you get older your teeth will get worse, not better, and soon your bite will be all off and that can cause any number of problems.

It would be best for you to get braces ASAP, get it over with and then you'll be set and won't have to wear them when you're 30 when it will take much longer to straighten them.

Good luck.
Reply:It depends. If there in the frount you may need a few brackets.
Reply:you should talk to your dentist, but you might need a retainer... : D good luck!!

Do braces cause crooked teeth?
thats a stupid question

why do you think you have them stupid!!!!
Reply:Guns are mean't to kill and braces are meant to straighten teeth.
Reply:Guns do not cause crime. Stupid people with guns cause crime. Braces are used to repair crooked teeth.
Reply:No, you have this all wrong. Braces are meant to fix the flaws in your teeth. Plus, people that does not have the perfect have it fixed by getting braces. Guns and braces cannot be compared at all!! They are totally different. Guns can only cause crime with the actions of the gunner. Braces are just ways to keep your teeth beautiful!

If I don't wear retainer for 7 days, will teeth go crooked?

During the past 6 months, I had my braces removed and began wearing a retainer. I started wearing my retainer around February 17th. However, a little over a week ago, my retainer cracked around the area that fits over the upper left molar (I think that's the tooth). I went to the orthodontist's office today, and he said that he'd have to send the retainer to the lab company for them to repair it; according to the orthodontist, this will take 7 days. The retainer won't be repaired and ready to pick up until next Wednesday (June 13th).

My question is: can my teeth become crooked during the next week? The orthodontist doesn't think so, but I want to be sure.

Dental professionals -- what are your opinions?

If I don't wear retainer for 7 days, will teeth go crooked?
not a dental professional but after i got my braces off, i didnt wear my retainer very much like maybe stick it in every 3 weeks or so and the orthodontist was like wow u have been wearing your retainer a lot huh? and now i never wear it because i put it into my backpack and it got bent. i prolly havent worn it for 6 months and my teeth are only a little crooked so a week wont matter. dont worry about it. :)
Reply:I doubt that they will go crooked in just a week. Just make sure you wear the retainer once you get it. I stopped wearing mine before I was suppose to, and one of my teeth moved, but not as bad as before, and it took longer then a week.
Reply:its depends of ur teeth! but u better get ur retainer as fast as u can!
Reply:Hi, I am a d. professional and I have to tell you that your teeth can move in that time. Everyone is different so it is not a given, but it is a probability
Reply:I'm not a professional but I had braces for six years. My bottom teeth always seemed to move even if I took my retainers out for just a day or two. My top teeth, however, always stayed in place and I eventually ditched my top retainer completely. Years later I still had to wear a retainer on my bottom teeth to keep them from shifting, so I ended up having to get a permanent retainer (which I highly recommend by the way. not painful, can't see it, easy.) Anyway, even if your teeth do move, like mine often did, putting the retainer back in your mouth when you get it back will put them right back into place. It will be a little tight at first but eventually it will work out.
Reply:no but its going to hurt like hell, when you put it back in.
Reply:I wore braces and then a retainer after they were removed. I am supposed to sleep with the retainer on pretty much for the rest of my life. Of course I stopped wearing it about a year later and have not worn one since and my teeth have yet to go crooked in the last 15 years so I think yours will survive the next 7 days.
Reply:Trust your orthodontist; he's the one who straightened them in the first place! Generally, if you've been diligent about wearing your retainers, 7 days without it, shouldn't be a major 'deal'. You'll notice some tightness when you start to wear it again, but your orthodontist can make adjustments to it if necessary until your teeth move 'back' into the right place.

Not to worry!

I have crooked teeth and I was wondering if there was 1 procedure that correct them without braces?

I'm not looking for a few years of braces in my mouth. I would rather pay the extra money and have some kind of procedure done to straiten them out. Does anyone know what that kind of procedure is called? Or how much it costs?

I have crooked teeth and I was wondering if there was 1 procedure that correct them without braces?
You could use invisilign which straightens your teeth. But it does cost $6000. My sister was thinking of getting this.
Reply:invisalign (dont know how to spell it) but its more expensive than braces and it doesnt work as well as braces either. just go to your orthodontist and talk to him about your teeth.
Reply:yeah its called braces, they dont look bad,if your willing to put in extra $ they are clear, almost unnoticeable.
Reply:They have braceless braces. Its like a mouth piece thats clear
Reply:porcelain veneers

http://www.animated-teeth.com/porcelain_...

"Lumineers" is a pretty big company that does it, i see it alot on the back of magazines and stuff

and for the cost with the lumineers, it said:

Lumineers by Cerinate are porcelain veneers that the Cerinate Smile Design Studio provides to dentists. Fees are determined by your dentist as he/she evaluates your smile needs. Often Lumineer veneer procedures can considerably vary, sometimes only a few Lumineers will dramatically improve your smile and other times more Lumineers can be required. Check with your Lumineers dentist regarding your personal requirements and payment programs that are available.

http://www.lumineers.com/ heres the website they have a lot of information on there

Hope this helps :)
Reply:Yes, talk with a cosmetic dental surgeon...
Reply:Porcelain Veneers are thin sheets of ceramic metal bonded to teeth that are able to fix gaps, chipped teeth, and whiten stains. This website is helpful but doesn't give any kind of price
Reply:Stefanie,

Lumineers are crap. Also, they do not work on crooked teeth. The only thing they are good for (besides nothing) is if the teeth are pretty much in alignment. I will not do these in my office. If the patient wants these, I tell them to find another dentist. They are not good restorations

I have crooked teeth is it to late to get braces???

PLEASE SOME ONE HELP???? IS IT TO LET I AM 17 YEARS.?

I have crooked teeth is it to late to get braces???
No it's not late! Dental office's have many type of brace's go to the Dentist and see what they recommend.
Reply:its never 2 late.... i know sum1 whos 40 and has just got braces.
Reply:No. Even adults can get them.
Reply:no .... im 29 and I have them,

its never too late but do it now rather than spend years wishing you had .
Reply:Don't get braces right now. my teacher had braces and it ruined her high school photo.
Reply:It's never to late to have braces. I personally know people in their 40's and older that had braces. 17 is still a common age to start as most kids at least need all permenent teeth before starting orthodontics. No worries straight teeth are in your future. GOOD LUCK!
Reply:You're not old at all! I didn't get them til I was 26, and I'm so glad I did because even though it hurt like the dickens, I am so confident now that my teeth are perfect!
Reply:I recommend invisalign... check out invisalign.com They are removable clear trays that you change out every two weeks until you teeth are straight. The number of trays depends on the complexity of the case.
Reply:It's never too late to get braces. I'm 47 and I just got braces 8 days ago. There a a lot of adults in braces. Just go for it!!!
Reply:Its never too late to get braces, unless your already on dentures :). Go for it. Usually After your teens, if you don not have your wisdom teeth pulled they tend to push the rest of your teeth out of place, making them crooked. So, its natural for many of our teeth to crowd, and its better to get them at 17 than 40. A few years while in High School of College with braces seems to be more accepted than when your older. Just be aware of the costs. Fix them early to prevent infection or if they're not really bad. Leave your mouth alone.
Reply:no its not too late

but maybe we could just tap 'em back straight with this hammer

Can I use whitening strips, even though my teeth are crooked?

My friend was using some and they are all hard and suppose to fit on your teeth and since mine are crooked, I don't think that I can use them. Any (cheap) recommendations?

Can I use whitening strips, even though my teeth are crooked?
you can try the kind that you paint on your teeth. I think crest makes it. It may be better for you since your teeth are crooked.
Reply:Yeah, it tends to bubble up, so even though your teeth are crooked it should be able to get in between any angles.
Reply:yes, you should be able to. or you could even try the paint on kind like someone else suggested or there is also the gel kind that you put into a mouth piece or tray. they should be able to work even if you have crooked teeth because you can put the tray in your mouth and the gel will surround you teeth at any and all angles.

Are dirty/rotten teeth worse than crooked teeth on a guy?

Yes. Definitely. Having crooked teeth means he can't go to the orthodontist, which is very expensive anyway. Having rotten teeth means he can't afford a few minutes to brush every day.

Are dirty/rotten teeth worse than crooked teeth on a guy?
For the love of everything on the planet, don't take either or. You really shouldn't have to choose between the two. Take em' both to a dentist.
Reply:Yes, dirty teeth especially!! Nobody wants to kiss a Yuck Mouth..
Reply:I would have to say yes. The girls (at least the ones I know) would rather have clean white crooked teeth then rotten nasty teeth. So I'd go with crooked if I had too
Reply:eeeewwwww. I can forgive crooked teeth, hey braces are expensive, but dirty teeth? Go to the dentist! At least brush em, even baking soda isn't too expensive.
Reply:YES! i would rather see the guy with NO teeth as opposed to havent dirty rotten teeth.
Reply:yeah!
Reply:yes, really gross!
Reply:Good dental care/hygiene is no excuse, crooked teeth are a very expensive procedure to repair, if they are clean crooked teeth, what's the problem?
Reply:Crooked teeth can be unattractive, or attractive, it just depends on how crooked and how they relate to the face. It can add character to a person. Dirty rotten teeth are a complete turn off, no matter what.
Reply:i would prefer clean crooked teeth over dirty rotten ones anyday.
Reply:dirty rotten teeth are worse then crooked teeth. Crooked teeth you know are at least clean. Who wants to kiss a guy who's teeth are rotten? It looks like he doesn't care. Now crooked teeth braces are expensive and once you hit a certain age most insurances don't cover them and so it's something you can't help but dirty teeth you can help and can fix easily by brushing and flossing them.
Reply:Hello.....have you thought about that question? Dirty/rotten to me suggests there's probably a whole lot more about this person that isn't cleaned regularly. How up close and personal do you want to be with someone that doesn't have good hygiene?

Crooked teeth aren't great but if they're clean, well, teeth can be straightened but at this point you shouldn't have teach a man how to take care of himself. Maybe there are good reasons for not having them straightened and it may depend on his age. I didn't have money to fix my teeth until I was 34 and it changed my smile tremendously. However, they were and are always clean.

Move on to someone who cares enough about themselves to clean themselves reguarly. Good luck.

I have Crooked teeth, but is BRASING the only way? sob, sob.?

if your insecure about your teeth and don't want to wear braces for over a yr and don't want to go through the extra length and get your teeth filed down to put caps over your teeth (porcelain veneers) which cost a lot of money. you can buy these clip on teeth which have a reasonable price, ($1200) which is how much each veneer would cost for each tooth. but here is the website:http://www.manhattandentalarts.com/cosme...

EDIT: and if you dont live in new york, just seach about them and i am sure you can find a denist who offers this in a city near you.

My cousin got them and they look so natural and last really long, and are a real bargain compared to procelain veeneers, which can be a painful process. (from what i am told)

Theres those gum guards(perfect smile-I think) that you have to wear and every so often they send you a new one!

I have crooked teeth what is an homemade way to fix them?

My girlfriend doesn't mind but I mind. I can't go to an denist too expensive. Is there anything I can do at home to fix them

I have crooked teeth what is an homemade way to fix them?
As the Owner of an Orthodontic Lab. I have to tell you that the key to moving teeth is constant pressure. braces accomplish this fast because they maintain pressure 24/7. Retainers that are designed to move teeth do this a little slower because the wearer can take it out, hence no 24/7 pressure. With that said any thing you do will have to be for hours at a time to see any result. example: if you use your finger to apply pressure and you keep your finger in your mouth on your tooth for 12 hours a day...no. 1) your girlfriend probably will not like it....no. 2) during the other 12 hours (out of a 24 hour day) the teeth will "stabilize" or move back into position. Therefore you have to keep your finger in your mouth more hours out of the day than out of our mouth.

Amazingly enough I has seen small kids move a tooth that was out of place with a tongue depressor just by holding it against the tooth while she watched TV in the evening., Man, teeth move fast in young children.

As far as the Small rubber band trick. It works because you can leave it in all day. But it does only fix the gaps in your teeth not crowding. Plus I saw an x-ray of a young woman that lost her 2 front teeth because the rubber band rolled up into her gums and she didn't know it. It the irritation cause her bone-structure to turn to mush! Its not worth the risk.

Hope this helps

By the way most orthodontist (dentist that do only braces) have payment plans. $89-200 a month in most cases.

Depending on how jacked up your grill is! ;)

Reply:don't think so
Reply:just keep em clean and white, you wont be able to change their shape without a dentist.
Reply:can not be done at home. to straighten your teeth, you have to change your bone structure.
Reply:no man sure isnt
Reply:nooo. try to save up to have them filed or something. try to be happy with who you are - everyone has something they never think is good enough and want to fix and can't afford - if ur girl loves you with your teeth the way they are - then why worry?? they just might be your own special trait and add some uniqueness to your look. there are tons of celebrities with gaps in their teeth, crooked teeth. i know it's hard but try to see what ur girlfriend sees. maybe you can save up and if still important to you in a few years, you can get them done - at least in the front. i don't know if filing is that expensive.. it might be cute. : )
Reply:im not sure it's wise to do your own dental work

but i have seen chicklets used in movies the only thing is that i dont see how they stay in and they would melt and look pretty dumb ie the movie Dennis the menice im sorre if this is no help

Reply:don't pull out your teeth ! the suggestion with the rubber bands is good. also, get stimudent tooth pics, use them between teeth that are too close together to move them....

it's cool that your girlfriend loves you; try to accept what you cannot change....and count your blessings.

Are crooked teeth genetic?

You inherit a susceptibility to them. They come from your genes for big teeth combining with your other genes for a small jawbone. That type of mismatch is what makes orthodontists rich.

Are crooked teeth genetic?
they can be. but you can also get braces. I got my crooked teeth from my dad, but I have braces on now.
Reply:No there not trust no one had in my family i have it
Reply:Both of my parents had fairly straight teeth and so does my brother. Yet somehow I had crooked teeth.
Reply:No, they are not. Sometime overbites run in families though. Cavities, lack of or if you are prone to, can be genetic.
Reply:I think so. I don't think it necessarily has to come from your mom and dad, but could be someone else in your family way down the line.

Yellow crooked teeth,lazy eyes,shaved eyebrows...?
Here's a start: Teeth whitening (stop smoking and you won't smell bad anymore either), braces, a trip to a dermitologist (consider laser scar/mole removal, but consult the doctor first) and for God's sake, stop shaving your $%%26amp;'# eyebrows!

If you work at it, I bet you can see a difference in 3-5 months.

Is crooked teeth ugly or ok?

If you keep your teeth clean (not full of yellow or brown dingy stains where they overlap), crooked teeth are fine. Now, if your mouth looks like a bear trap, for health reasons, you should contact an orthodontist who can help you manage your teeth so they last a lifetime and don't wear down in odd places, exposing nerves, causing cavities, decay, etc.

Is crooked teeth ugly or ok?
sometimes it looks okay, but crooked teeth should be fixed. They can lead to pain in the mouth and even over-crowding on down the road.

Reply:If they're not crooked enough to be a health issue, then it's okay.
Reply:okay.but keep it white.
Reply:It could depend on what's making them crooked in the first place. They can be a pain to clean as well.

Reply:No crooked teeth are not ok. You should go to a dentist and get them fixed. If you can not afford to go, try a dentist school, they will do it for a small fee, but caution it is a school. What will you do when it's time to go out and find a job, during the interview your interviewer will see nothing else but your teeth. Hope you have degrees or a lengthy job experience under your belt.

braces and accutane.

Try and get a prescription for Benzaclin or whatever your doctor suggests and regularly use the product and wash your face with foam acne wash. Use moisturizer when needed.

For your teeth, I suggest you just keep them white and brush/floss regularly until you get braces.
Reply:braces and dermatologist.

or there is a new thing where you don't have to go through the long torture of braces. you can get it surgically done and it whitens your teeth as well.

proactive doesnt always work. infact, i have a lot of friends who have tried it and it actually ended up making their skin problem worse.

i would go see a dermatologist.

As for the acne, people have suggested skin washes and dermatologists and everything so try things like Proactiv or Cetaphil. Make sure everything you use is oil-free and has cleansing agents.

I have crooked teeth,and i don't brush my teeth much.What should i do?I am in desperite help!!?

Well... first off.. brush your teeth more. You probably don't brush them much because it hurts and they bleed right? Well guess what - they'll stop bleeding after a few days. Gotta toughen them gums up. Next off, see a dentist - get braces. I had them. Find a good dentist though, I was one of the worst cases mine had ever seen and he did a great job. Looks great now. But... like i said. Brush your teeth. Floss. Your gums will toughen up after a few days and it won't hurt or bleed anymore. Hope this helps you :)

See a dentist
Reply:Eventually they will fall out and you will have nice straight dentures.
Reply:First, brush your teeth. Second, see a dentist. Third, see an orthodontist. You may not realize it, but you're setting yourself up for gum disease, and that is directly related to heart disease.
Reply:First of all, your mouth has to have no germs in it, so it doesnt be crooked, so use listerine and then put braces or platesor if you're scared to put that on, brush on the inside of your teeth real hard and if you do that everyday, you will see lovely teeth...!!!
Reply:Get braces or get dentures sweet breath.
Reply:if you do not brush just use any good MOUTH WASH it's really woeking, in markit there are very good verity of MOUTH WASHES.And there are many flaver, i had same problem i realy use it ,it's working. my teeth is naw very good condition. do mouth wash twice a day.i hope u realy try this.......
Reply:First off, you should brush and floss your teeth, because if you don't, you'll REALLY be regretting it farther down the line when your gums are rotted and all your teeth have fallen out. That's not very attractive. Second, get to a dentist. Seek out an orthodontist and look into getting braces.
Reply:it's common sense enough to seek advice from a dentist. in the meantime, get your act together and start brushing, gently massage the gum and the teeth.

Can invisalign braces fix crooked teeth, I haven't seen my dentist yet, but I am scheduled to see if I'm

eligble for invisalign braces. The invisalign website before and after photos all look pretty minor ( gaps, crowding,) . I have bit of a crossbite (its the only photo that looks similar to my situation only mine is a little more severe) at the bottom in which a tooth is somewhat behind the others. Also the website lists invisalign can be part of my tooth straigtening, so does that mean i can wear metal then switch to invisalign when possible. Any help is greatly appreciated

Can invisalign braces fix crooked teeth, I haven't seen my dentist yet, but I am scheduled to see if I'm
If your case is SUITABLE for Invisalign, it works wonderfully well - as long as you do your part and wear them (almost) 24/7. Any dentist doing Invisalign has to be certified to use them and should be capable of making the diagnosis of whether or not to use them. If Invisalign was suggested to you, then it should work for your case.

I would not say that Invisalign is better or worse than braces, because it depends on the case. There is no set answer. After a few minutes of wearing them, your speech will sound just fine. They are very thin and pretty much exactly the same shape as your teeth. They do tend to increase the amount of saliva in your mouth at first, but you soon get used to that and the salivary flow seems to slow back to normal after a while, also.

My personal limit is no more than 2 mm of movement per tooth with Invisalign. (I am not sure if Invisalign corporation supports more than this amount anyhow.) This is sufficient to correct SOME crossbites, but not most. You can combine treatment with traditional braces. For example, you can start with "metal" braces and get things (let's say) half-way there, including fixing the crossbite, and then get rid of the braces and finish with Invisalign.
Reply:I had a friend that used invisalign, it was somewhat effective. However, as soon as she quit using them they immediately moved back.
Reply:If you have a crossbite it could not be fixed with invisalign, you will need the metal with rubberbands from top to bottom to shift jaw. Metal braces take longer but work better in my opinion.
Reply:can do switch between metal and invisalign when possible like on a date go invisilign then back to metal when you get home? .No

Can invisilign be use alone to correct you teeth? I like to tell you yes, but not really. with metel baces the dentist cement brackets to each of your teeth that have to move or straigten and that is one day

the next day is the wire that connects the brackets all together which is ok till he put the tension of the wire then you will know tingling pain for a bit after that till you learn to deal with that. but this is the fastest way.
Reply:Invisalign braces work best on very minor rotations, if you have need to have your bite corrected it would go faster and be less expensive to go with conventional braces.
Reply:Only your dentist can tell you if Invisalign is right for you. Usually, it will cost you little or nothing to find out. Impressions and photos are sent to the Invisalign labs and you can view an online simulation of the corrections possible with treatment.

Dentists are not interested in promoting a product if it doesn't give good results. Your satisfaction means referrals and so they are motivated to choose the method that will achieve your goals. A qualified dentist will look at Invisalign, traditional braces, and even cosmetic veneers to come up with a strategy for you. Perhaps no treatment at all is the best.

Invisalign can cost way less than metal braces. Ask around about fees.

I have gingivitis. However,My teeth are crooked. Is there any hope of me getting braces at this point?

I have gingivitis. My teeth are crooked at the top. The tooth decay is on the bottom of my mouth and has been controlled because I am undergoing treatment. However, I desperately want braces. Under what conditions will this be a viable option?

I have gingivitis. However,My teeth are crooked. Is there any hope of me getting braces at this point?
The braces will make it even harder for you to maintain good oral hygiene, which will make the gingivitis even worse.

The next time you go to your dentist to continue your treatment, you should ask him how to properly maintain your oral hygiene to prevent gingivitis. Once you can demonstrate that you can keep the plaque off your teeth and maintain healthy gums, you should be able to get braces.

Hope this helps.
Reply:well braces or orthodontic treatment is usually planned after evaluating the periodontal status of a patient which includes gums and bone surrounding tooth structure, age of patient and other factors like any other serious ailment and most important kind of or type of movement required which can be evaluated only by clinical examination , consult your orthodontist for the needfull!
Reply:I think treating gingivitis should be the first priority, since it could advance up to other dental and health problems in the future. Try finding a cure for your gingivitis first, since your gums are the bases for your braces and it may get further infected by them. try a cure that won't irritate and less harmful to your gums for faster healing.

Only two of my teeth are crooked. What do I do??

Everyone says I have a really nice smile because my teeth really does seem straight if your looking at it from the front. The only problem is that I have these two random teeth on my right side thats crooked and it kills my nice smile! Its like im so afraid that people will see me smiling from the side so when I laugh I just cover my smile. As of right now I cant afford braces. Is there anything I could do? The rest of my teeths straight. Its just those two on the side!

Get braces or don't smile. There is nothing else you can do except, accept your teeth and smile proudly.
Reply:any option will cost money.

are your wisdom teeth crowding out the rest of your mouth? That is what happened to me, my teeth were starting to bunch up in the front and I had impacted wisdom teeth. they were removed, and the problem fixed itself in a couple of years.
Reply:Talk to your dentist I have a tooth in the front that is not noticeable until u are staring directly at it and the dentist recommend invisilign. I know you say you cant afford braces and they cost about the same as braces but dentists are really good about working out payment plans.

i am 14 years old, how could i fix this?

the teeth are sort of 'slanted' to the left like they've grown incorrectly

My bottom row of teeth are straight (perfect, really) but my top row of teeth are crooked and stick out?
Everyone should smile, don't worry about what other people think about your teeth.

If your teeth are shaped like number 1 then some people need surgery because they are pushed so way back that they cannot be treated with braces. There are sometimes when they can pull out 4 teeth so that there is more space. If its like number two then all you need to do is get braces, maybe 2 years to fixed the other 'slanted' teeth. Your top teeth can be pulled back with the help of elastics, they hook to your braces and pull your teeth back, I have them right now. Talk to your parents about getting braces, it may be expensive if your in the states I live in Japan on a Marine Base so they are free. Hope this helps.

My upper front teeth are crooked?

one of them lays on the other--you can't necessarily tell it until you get close. I can't afford braces.

I was thinking what if i put a thick piece of floss between the 2 teeth that are crooked to make them separate---would that work? (the floss is thick enough , I feel the pressure) A tad bit is all I need for them to move--like I said one tooth is slightly laying on the other.

I know this may sound dumb, but I am desperate!

No don't you can get free barces just have a dentist look at it and see if there is any finacil aid?

it might work if its that little that u say, change the floss everytime u eat and brush ur mouth, in a week u will feel that its not tight anymore, so sfter that, dont try to play dentist if it worked good job but if u still feel that u need more space please go to a dentist maybe u just need a space maker and not braces at all ;) (they cost arround 200 dlls)

you can actually at night put a rubber band that they use on braces around the crooked tooth and the one right next to it. i have actually done it myself. it might take a while but it will straiten up.
Reply:ever seen "Castaway"?
Reply:The dentist says your teeth will naturally align. Chew gum and use your tongue to press on your teeth.
Reply:hey I'm a dental technologist in south Africa there is a cheaper way then getting braces you could try a retainer which a dental tech makes with a sort of spring which pushes your tooth in to the right place as when a tooth is pushed in a certain direction the bone regrows around the tooth and the advantage of a retainer you can where it when you sleep if you are embarrassed to wear it out but just remember the more you wear the retainer the quicker your problem will be fixed

Upper teeth are straight but bottom teeth are crooked. In my late 20's. Can I just bottom braces? What kind?

My upper row of teeth is straight b/c I had a retainer as a child but my bottom teeth are crooked. I am in my late 20's. Can I just get braces or a retainer to straighten my bottom teeth and if so what are my options? I want the least amount of visibility. Also most insurance companies only pay for pediatric orthodontia so most likely I will be paying for this out of my own pocket. Thanks, mom and dad! Upper teeth are straight but bottom teeth are crooked. In my late 20's. Can I just bottom braces? What kind?
I am 21, and I have invisalign. Sometimes it is a pain, bc you have to brush after EVERY meal, snack, non water drink, and put them back in. They cost $5,000 for upper and lower. If I were to just get lower, I'd probably do regular braces, but the white ones. There will still be a metal wire, but not the metal boxes. Good luck!

Can Babies first teeth come out crooked?

I have heard that using the bottle for long makes your baby teeth come out crooked. is that true or myth? What makes teeth get crooked? Please have sources in answer.

Can Babies first teeth come out crooked?
Bottle feeding babies (and heavy pacifier users/thumb suckers) are much more likely to end up with crooked teeth. Breastfeeding makes baby use the correct muscles in the face to suck and therefore results in better jaw alignment, facial symmetry and straighter/healthier teeth.

Reply:from experience with my kids, they can grow crooked and then straighten or it could be that they use a dummy (pacifier.)

Will my teeth look crooked?

I have pretty much close to being perfect teeth they have never been crooked at all...And i was wondering my dentist said i didnt have "enough" room for my wisdom teeth and id need them out when i was about 16.

Ok so this is my question

Will my teeth shift to the point of looking bad on the top and bottom?

((I asked this awhile back but i dont think i was clear enough so i'm asking again..=D))

Will my teeth look crooked?
It might or it might not happen...depends on how big your jaw is..and the ratio between your jaw size to that of your teeth..if your dentist says you will have to have the wisdom teeth out,you probably will have to do so coz they will get impacted-they will not come out fully coz they do not have enough space to-which can lead to a whole lot of other dental problems.as to the rest of your teeth getting crooked..there is a small possibility of them getting misaligned when the wisdom teeth erupt..
Reply:Yes, when the come in they can oush your other teeth out of position and you will have a jacked up grill.

My teeth are crooked because I forgot to wear my retainers and i was wondering can the orthodontist adjust it?

Yes as the title says, I was wondering that since my teeth are crooked still because of forgetting to wear my retainers will the orthodontist be upset or mad at me and make me wear braces again or can retainers fix teeth into thier right place again like braces just like I asked above?

P.S. Can they adjust my retainers so they correct again and get back into their places? Another question can retainers fix teeth like braces?

My teeth are crooked because I forgot to wear my retainers and i was wondering can the orthodontist adjust it?
Retainers are made to help teeth keep their positions after braces, not to realign the teeth. You will probably have to get braces again. I had a friends who had to have braces put back on three times because he always failed to wear his retainer.
Reply:yes.
Reply:it depends on how crooked ur teeth are whether retainers can fix them. most likely, u'll have to get braces again. wear that retainer!!
Reply:the retainer is made to hold your teeth where there are when you made the impressions, they won't change your teeth. You could try your old retainer, does it fit? If by some chance it does squeeze in wear that. If you don't have it getting a new one is not going to fix the problem.
Reply:thats what happend to me too I always forgot but it depends how bad they are you might have to get them on again..

Teeth going crooked?

I got my braces off last June and I haven't worn my bottom retainer in like a week and my bottom tooth is already going crooked..and Its very noticeable.. If I wear my containers again and only take them out when I eat, will the tooth go back into place? I'm really scared because my parents paid quite alot for my teeth to become straight.

Teeth going crooked?
Absolutely, try to get your retainer back in place. It may not fit perfectly at first, but if you wear it consistently for a few hours, you should be able to get it to fit better and better until, hopefully, it's moved your tooth back to where it belongs. It will require all-day wear (except when you eat and brush), which is probably exactly what your orthodontist asked you to do to begin with. ;)

Some types of relapse (the shifting that happens shortly after your braces are taken off if you don't wear your retainer) can be completely corrected in this way...some can't. If your teeth have started to overlap where they touch, you won't have as much luck with your retainer. Either way, you probably have a "retainer check" visit scheduled with your orthodontist. Do your best to wear that retainer as much as possible before you have your visit, and your orthodontist might be able to adjust the retainer further to help correct the little bit of relapse that still remains.

If you simply can't get your retainer to fit at all, it's better to bite the bullet early and let your parents and your orthodontist know. It won't be pleasant facing them, but it'll be easier and less expensive to correct that relapse now than it will be even in a few months. Be honest about the fact that you haven't worn it the way you were supposed to wear it (the orthodontist will know anyway, so it won't do any good to lie). Good luck!
Reply:YES! JUST GIVE IT TIME!

Teeth as crooked as grave stones...Cost for braces?

Okay, that "teeth as crooked as grave stones" was a little exaggerated. But here's the scoop: I wore braces before. And I got them taken off five years ago. Like a stupid child, I didn't think I needed to wear my retainer. So, now, five years later, my teeth are crooked again. I know this answer is difficult to answer w/out a picture, but about how much (rough estimate) might it cost for me to get braces now? When I started, it cost $4,000. My teeth aren't as crooked as they used to be. My two front teeth stick out a bit, and I have an overbite. My bottom teeth are square-shaped. I_I

Teeth as crooked as grave stones...Cost for braces?
Well...they are about $4000-5000. You could see an orthodontist and see about getting a correcting retainer. My brother had crooked teeth and wore one instead of braces. They are immensly cheaper and since youve worn braces before they are probably not in too bad of shape. The doc just adjusts the retainer every month or so to get the teeth back in correct form. Good Luck!!
Reply:well even if your teeth are just slightly crooked, theyre gonna cost just as much as if you have teeth as crooked as grave stones; its the other applainces that will make it cost more if your teeth are that crooked. but other than that braces cost around $3000 with good insurance.

good luck!
Reply:Anywhere from $1700 to $5000 depending on what dentists you use.

Is it better to have a brace for 2 years and have strait teeth or not and have crooked teeth forever?

im almost 20 years old and my smile isnt perfect, i know that a brace would fix this and i would feel so much more confident having pefrectly strait teeth. im starting uni next year though and am worried of how being a 20 year old with a brace will effect how people see me and also weather a brace would make me look more unnatractive, although the end results would obviously be better.

Is it better to have a brace for 2 years and have strait teeth or not and have crooked teeth forever?
More and more adults are getting braces now a days. My brother had them when he was in his 20's too. Two years is not a long time when considering you have your whole life ahead of you. If someone is unattracted to you because you are trying to better yourself, then you don't want to be around them anyway. Remeber the ugly duckling story?
Reply:Wear braces. Unless your teeth are fine anyway. Ask your dentist on his opinion.
Reply:Definatly get braces... I love my teeth after them and it is totally worth it!!! YOu can also get the clear braces so just the metal wire shows... i did that and i loved them!!! but i love my straight teeth now!!! Do it lol
Reply:well you should wear them and get it over with. Or you could just check with your dentist and see what he can do about it.
Reply:old enough to not be made fun of but not too old for the braces--perfect time
Reply:well if its going to make u feel better baout ur self u should definately do it. and braces don't look that bad actually, they look nice on a lot of ppl now:) they come in all of these colours and stuff. so yeah do it! and don't worry about how u look they look fine! and u have a year before uni. so if u get them now than ull only spend a year in uni wearing it:)
Reply:It depends - how bad are your teeth? Are we talking a few out-of-line teeth, or a few snaggle tooths?

If it's the latter, I it would end up doing you better in the end. It would definitely make you look younger now, but the end rewards would be worth it, especially if it makes you feel more confident about yourself and how you look. Once it's over, it's over and you don't have to worry about it, but if you do nothing, and it bothers you, it'll bother you your whole life. What's two years of braces compared to a lifetime of confidence?
Reply:I'm twenty. I had braces when I was younger and now I went to get my lower front teeth done. People said o don't do it its a waste of money, you can't even see it when you smile. I spoke to the orthodontist and he said it would eventually get worse because it may not seem like they were moving on a daily basis, but you would see the difference in pictures or someone who sees you every so often might notice.

Speak to the ortho and see what they say. Make your decision for yourself and not based on what others think.
Reply:it doesnt matter really. staright teeth arent the world. but if you want a staight smile i would say wear braces. and you wouldnt nesicarily have to wear them for 2 years and you could also get the clear brackets.
Reply:Braces are a total pain, but they are worth it in the end, especially if you are self-conscious about your smile.

As for being unattractive, I don't see how it would, although I suppose there are always those who would think so. The people that would judge you for that aren't worth your time anyway, though.

Consult your dentist or orthodontist, because he/she will know what to do, better than most people on here.
Reply:I would definitely choose braces.

I don't have major problems with my teeth, I have a tiny overbite, but I'm still thinking about getting braces.

You can also go for the invisible braces, or like some celebrities have, the braces on the back of your teeth.
Reply:braces: put 'em on

braces r barely noticeable

trust me

i had it for 3 and a half years!

when i took 'em off and showed my

friends

that i knew since b4 i got 'em on

they asked

''u had braces?''
Reply:I am on my 4th year of braces (I have a screwed up mouth) and it is soo worth it in the end. I am going to a university next fall and am going to feel weird being this age and still have braces. But hey, it will pay off. If you can afford it then do it. It already sounds like you want it because you are not totally satisfied with your teeth now... So do it. The only problem would be if you moved away from your orthodontist to go to school. When you have braces you have to visit the ortho every month, so that is really something to discuss with them. Let me tell you 2 years is not that bad for braces. The only thing you need to consider is the $ cause it is expensive. But I think a perfect smile is priceless!!

One more thing... CLEAR BRACKETS are the way to go with braces. I have them and they don't turn colors and NO ONE knows you actually have braces on!!
Reply:I'm 19 too and in my second year of braces. It is definitely worth it. I love my new smile, even though the braces are still here. If you want braces, go for it! You won't regret it.

Why do Killer whales and similar sea creatures have perfectly straight teeth and humans have crooked teeth?

any picture you see of them they all have perfect teeth (killer whales)

Why do Killer whales and similar sea creatures have perfectly straight teeth and humans have crooked teeth?
Most organisms in the animal kingdom have been here and evolving for a longer period of time then primates. Any organisms whose teeth were truly crooked to a fault would have been eliminated from the gene pool and animals especially ancient wild ones had very poor dentists, LOL. The crooked teeth individuals were removed from the gene pool over time and therefore the genes for better tooth structure and function survived and thrived. Also if you were to really compare a large sample of jaw structure of killer whales you would indeed notice differences in tooth patterns. Another fact is also remember killer whale teeth are shaped like cones so you can not really tell the front or back since they are round, therefore a tooth could be twisted 90 degrees right and would look the same.
Reply:sorry this not an answer but I have to say i never thought of that but it is very true.
Reply:Because - most animals have a bunch of teeth that are all... in line, with their evolutionary past.

We have teeth that are considered "vestigial" (wisdom teeth) - and often times DO NOT fit in our mouths or cause problems - thus causing 90% of the population to have them removed.

Oftentimes, if they're allowed to grow in, they will cause other teeth to be moved out of the way.

Also - not everyone has crooked teeth. I have plenty of friends who've never had braces that have perfectly straight teeth. So this is also affected partly by genetics.

Dogs/Cats/Horses, etc. can also suffer from bite problems (look at bulldogs, genetically engineered by humans with an UNDERBITE.. this is not a normal bite condition).

If you show/breed dogs or cats, one of the things the judges will always check is the teeth and the bite - are the front teeth crooked, is the bite lined up properly?

So this also shows there's a genetic aspect to it - because if a dog has a poor bite/crooked teeth, you really don't want to breed it, because the puppies will mostly likely have bite problems as well.

With cetaceans - they've mostly reverted back to a homodont like dentition where all of the teeth serve the same function (cone teeth similiar in Alligators and Crocs for biting down and holding on to fish and other prey).

Since neither of these species have to *chew* their food, they have no need for molars, or incisors for biting off chunks of food, and, so - like I said, specifically with cetaceans since this would be a evolutionary transition BACK to homodont dentition whereas crocs and alligators have homodont dentition by nature.

Is there a plastic surgery procedure that can correct a crooked smile due to nerve damage? NOT CROOKED TEETH!?
Yes, there are ways to correct the problem via plastic surgery,or at least improve the problem. I don't know how much any procedure may cost.
Reply:YES= check with a specialist.

The midlines of my mouth are asymmetrical, could it be just because of crooked teeth?

I don't really know if it's just my teeth or my whole jaw, here are some details i do know:

In an x-ray, my jaws show a difference of 2 mm. The dr. that took out my wisdom teeth drew some lines to measure the jaws, and they aren't completely symmetrical, but i know no one's face is perfectly symmetrical. Is 2mm too much of a difference?

Also, that was in the x-ray, cause i had to bite down on a wooden stick, if i bite all the way down where my teeth actually meet, the difference between my midlines is about 5mm.

My whole mouth is to the left and is lower on my right side. My teeth don't show the typical malocclusion, but they do look as if placed in a diagonal, instead of vertical.

I would consider getting braces if they would fix my asymmetrical face, but I'm afraid they'll mess up my jaw more, or that I'll end up looking worse.

Do you know if this type of thing can happen because of a malocclusion, or is it necessarily a jaw problem that will require surgery?

The midlines of my mouth are asymmetrical, could it be just because of crooked teeth?
this question really requires you to sit down with a dentist, rather than over yahoo. but here's a couple of things to think about before you do go back to the DDS

1) xrays are 2D and dependent on the position of you and position of the tube that shoots the xrays. so measuring symmetry on film may be misleading.

2) midline really should be judge not on film but with the face too. so you nose, the philtrum, your eyes, your chin, and your teeth too. stand in front of the mirror and check if the teeth align with the rest of your face. so 2mm may be nothing or it could be everything.

3) braces: this should help if done properly. however, your orthodontist should consider amount of teeth that need to move, how much space there is to play with, your age, your molars, wisdom teeth, etc, etc. uprighting teeth is easy to do esp the fronts, but if you don't have space to move them, it cause problems in other parts of your mouth.

good luck and keep flossing and brushing!

If you don't brush your teeth would it cause you to have crooked teeth.?

Things that could cause damage your teeth!

If you don't brush your teeth would it cause you to have crooked teeth.?
No, but if you don't brush your teeth they will rot away. Crooked teeth occur when your mouth has no room for the adult teeth to grow into. Or they can occur if you play sports which involve getting hit in the face, i.e. ice hockey. You should still brush your teeth at least twice a day.
Reply:NO!
Reply:no the only thing that not brushing your teeth does is make them decay and stuff
Reply:No
Reply:Never happen. They would all fall out, and you would not have any friends.
Reply:yellow teeth? yes

but krooked teeth no
Reply:This will not cause your teeth to be crooked. It will cause your teeth to fall out due to decay and gum disease.

Women dont like me becuase i have crooked teeth, why?

lol i know that sounds stupid. but what is the big issue with teeth? i mean come on girlies, im really fun to be with, just i just wont smile if it offends you so much, lol

trust me i dont bite, well i might .... hehe

Women dont like me becuase i have crooked teeth, why?
Some women are shallow, or care too much about what people would think if they dated someone not 'perfect'...

My fiance and I both have totally imperfect teeth... my mother almost ruined mine trying to fix them, it really is insane how weird people can be about the 'quality' of teeth.

But think of it this way, if a girl only wants to date someone with perfect teeth, would you really want to date her? You'll find a girl one day who loves your teeth... I love my man's, especially when he smiles, it makes him looks so cute lol.

Don't worry too much dude :)

See a dentist and stop blaming other people for not liking you.

Reply:good teeth are definitely a big turn on. hopefully the women you like are more into your personality! if they don't like your tooth, that's their problem and maybe you should leave them.
Reply:well, mouth area is kind of important in a relationship, if you get what i mean , hehehe

the thing is, it depends how crooked your teeth are, if it bothers you that it bothers them then get braces.
Reply:well thats stupid, why would people hate you coz of crooked teeth? society is so stupid, first they judge others on their clothes and now on their dental health as well?

don't worry about it .two of the boyfriends i went out with had really effed up teeth. and did that scare me away?
Reply:there once was a man who had some crooked teeth he had a crooked smile he lived in a crooked house and he walked a crooked mile.
Reply:If they don't want to go out with you because you have crooked teeth then they are shallow and you need to move on to someone deeper. But, if they won't go out with you because you don't take care of your teeth i.e. brushing, rinsing, flossing, etc. then I don't blame them.
Reply:better see a dentist to fixed your crooked teeth.
Reply:Americans are really weird about having unnaturally perfect teeth. It's kind of obsessive.

Believe me, girls elsewhere don't mind.
Reply:They are shallow. If your teeth really are terrible, get them seen to.
Reply:Well good teeth are an indicator of good breeding potential...they dont like you because they are programmed biologically to pick the man who is made "best" they are looking...subconciously for the man who will give them the best offspring...they dont want a child with crooked teeth. Get them fixed.
Reply:Ok this is kind of wierd but this girl i know is attractive yet it looks like she has been chewing on metal. Her pesonality is great and she does not look bad at all but when she smiles oh dear I cant help but look away. Teeth are important man. Get braces a little straight teeth go a long way. This is unrelated but I cant help but wonder how oral sex would be with her crooked teeth. They must shred you to pieces.
Reply:I think crooked teeth can be charming or different at times. My boyfriend had NO teeth when I met him in his mid-thirties. Since then he's gotten dentures but won't wear them. Most of the time because he claims they are uncomfortable. We both have the kind of smile that really doesn't show much of your teeth. I just take him as he is. Not wild about my tiny teeth either. I guess for some people it's a really big deal.
Reply:a mouth, teeth, money, etc, etc.... are extremely essential in a relationship because most women who concern themselves with a guy's, lover, partner, or boyfriend's physical flaws have self esteem issues and they try to look for perfection in their other half. It's not your fault dude, you just can't blame a girl for sticking to what she knows and that's showing off what a perfect looking guy they have. It's pretty much a competition to"most" females so don't let it get you down. Simply said, you'll find someone who loves your every flaw because those flaws make you who you are not what they want you to be.. Plus most females now a days are going through this "social conditioning" which leads them to believe that they have to at any cost fit into society......

What do you think of ppl with crooked teeth?

i just wanted to kno would u ever date some one with messed up teeth and are they still pretty

What do you think of ppl with crooked teeth?
At the risk of sounding like a hopeless romantic....beauty comes from within. If you're a good, kind, compassionate, caring, loving person.....your mate will see you for your inner beauty. Good oral hygiene is always a bonus though.....a mouth full of cavities and gum disease can be a real turn off for some people.
Reply:sure !!! crooked teeth are better than NO teeth....
Reply:personality and character are far more important than superficial cosmetics, for true beauty is inward. so yes i would date someone who's teeth aren't perfect, but in the grand scheme of things none of us are perfect we all have a flaw or two, and yes they still would be pretty to me.

Will this eventually go away? I Dont want Crooked TEETH!?

Ok im a mid teenager and i just got braces put on like a week ago. But ive been noticing the past two days that im swallowing wierd with my tongue, almsot like a tongue thrust. I open my bit slighty i actually pull back my toungue instead of pushing it to grab the spit im sucking back then i swallow normal. like im sucking all the spit from the out side of my mouth, the Front teeth region where mybraces are to my tongue and swallow. I swallow normal without my tongue toching my teeth but its when beofre im swallowing my tongue thursts a little bit to get the spit. Also when i do this im puckering my lips ALOT like inward suckingm otion but inside your mouth with oyur lips closed. Is this becasue of my braces or is this a problem to be concerned aobut. Ive never had a tongue thrusting problem before so why is this weird tongue thing happening now with braces? I talk fine and evrything but is this a habit that will continue or will it go away as i get use to the braces? Answers please.

Will this eventually go away? I Dont want Crooked TEETH!?

Plant question

Is it possible to go from normal, slightly crooked teeth, to perfect white, straight "Hollywood Smile" teeth?

Without having false teeth or such

Is it possible to go from normal, slightly crooked teeth, to perfect white, straight "Hollywood Smile" teeth?
yes - but very expensive and can be painful

It is possible to have bleach applied to teeth but this can make them very sensitive.

You can also have teeth filed down and caps applied so that you have perfect looking teeth - I don't really fancy that!!

Or you could have a brace fitted - increasingly more popular with people in twenties and beyond who missed out on this when they were younger
Reply:Hi, I'm a dentist.

I'm not sure what you mean, exactly, by "false teeth or such". In order to transform a smile, many procedures are available. The least invasive would be veneers or lumineers, but if teeth are too maligned, orthodontics may be necessary. Also, if teeth are too badly stained and/or decayed, full coverage crowns may be necessary.

Each case must be individually treatment planned. There is really no way I can give you the answer you are looking for without evaluating the patient personally.

Sorry.
Reply:yes! Ignore the dentist he/she wants your money! Crest whitening strips are great I got some when I was last in Florida and what a difference. My teeth were a bit minging to say the least, lots of coffee and nicotine stains and my liking for red wine didn't help. Anyway I have now discovered you can buy them on ebay for about £15.00. I think they are Americas best kept secret! having my teeth white also made me stop smoking as I wanted to keep them good and although I've not quite ditched the coffee I've changed to white wine. As for straightening you will need a dentist for braces but crooked teeth and gaps can bring lots of character to a smile:-)
Reply:You need to have a dentist assess the problem to give you an answer to your question. Sometimes a brace is needed to straighten teeth but that depends on how misaligned the teeth are.

Veneers or crowns are another way of achieving a nice white smile...my daughter had veneers done and the effect was amazing (on the NHS too !)

The best thing to do is see your dentist and discuss the options with him. Good luck

Do people look good with crooked teeth?

I have two front teeth that are outward and very strong and stubborn. Do you think it looks good?

Do people look good with crooked teeth?
it depends on how crooked. This is just my opinion, but I like all kinds of smiles. Sometimes crooked teeth can give a persons smile a lot of character. Sometimes it can make a person look downright sexy, kind of like an outlaw. ;)

Whatever the case may be, straight or crooked, keep on smiling! Nothing makes a person look better than a smile! Smiles show more than teeth, they show your heart.
